Anyone else get this sometimes? RLD not loading
Editor's note: You may have experience some spam-looking page appearing when you visit RLD pages. I'm aware of the issue and actively working with my web hosting company to get it resolved, but it is slow going. Your patience and support are very much appreciated. I have no ETA for a fix...I'm at the mercy of my host.
But please keep reporting when you experience it and any of the following information can be very helpful:
- What you clicked or what you were doing when it happened
- What device and browser you were using
- What country/state you're in
- Screenshots are a bonus, especially if they look different than what's already been shared.
All the information you report is helpful as I can pass that on to my web host and use as leverage when they try to tell me that there is no problem, ha!
I apologize for the trouble and annoyance. I know it's ugly and no fun and if you avoid the site for a while, I get it. Just please check back every now and then to see if it's fixed.

It's looks like a DNS hijacking. I've had it happen twice today. RLD will need to contact his DNS service.

Please keep reporting as you see it, and if possible, log what you clicked on when you got it.
Did it show up when you directly typed in redlinederby.com?
Did it happen when you clicked a link on a post?
Just on your phone or on a laptop/pc as well?
Any type of "it seems to happen when I do X" type of stuff...any of that will help troubleshoot and give me info in case I need to contact some help.
I don't have a lot of control over this stuff with my web host so if it gets out of hand I'll have to call them and they'll need to know what I know...and of course, I don't get this happening to me at all, go figure...
For me on the mobile it will most happen if I attempt to EDIT a comment, if that helps. I navigate here on that device from Google and click the link with the RLD logo, always the first result
Never occurs on the desktop site from the laptop
Editing to test the laptop theory, no issue. I thought on the phone that going days between restarts was the thing, but nope, just today on the phone it happened after a reboot. Jinkies, gang!

I get it all the time. Started happening when I switched Internet providers.

I finally got the SEO landing page to appear! Yay! Boo! However, it did happen only after I turned off my ad blocker for the site. This was on my iPad where I use Purify.
I can't say for sure the ad blocker actually has any impact whatsoever...it could very well just have been a coincidence. I'm still digging around to see what I can find and checking with my web host. I sense it *could* be something in there settings that offers up that page in certain conditions, but it doesn't say what those conditions are. I haven't change *anything* to this site is many, many months so I'm confident it's not because of something I changed in code or settings or anything.
Fair warning that in my efforts to get this fixed the site may go offline or show legit errors. BUT please know that SEO landing page (as shown in the shot above) should NEVER be happening.

Hmmm...so I think the ad blocker half works. I got the home page to not load the proper RLD content but it was just a blank white page. I think my ad blocker is blocking the actual page with all the crap links on it but it's not stopping the loading of the bad page.
I submitted a help ticket with my host so we'll see what they're able to do come Monday. I don't have a lot of faith in them but I'm at a loss otherwise.

Just now....twice....I was on RLD home page...clicked on the "just recently" part of Is this the tournament de fast and I get the blue page coming up.

I'll be on the RedlineDerby page....looking around....today I clicked on "see all events"....and got that blue page.
