There nothing that can ruin your Monday like a direct hit from a hurricane. Like many folks, I was forced to stay home from work today. While I'm in the dark is no fun).

So...Goolz11 & Goolzjr, Nightstalker, WorpeX, model40fan, and anyone else I may have missed...please be safe.

Ditto! And if an evacuation is advised please do so. Living near the Gulf Coast I do feel for you guys.

I live on a high plateau too, so no worries about flooding for me(the wind could be another story ). But the local road to "civilization" will probably flood out for sure if we get 8" of rain. I have food, I still have power, and I've had time to extend my track this morning...time 4 some racin'!

Yes, I hope nothing bad happens to any of you back East.

How awesome is it, that you don't need any power to race Hot Wheels?!...that whole "dark" thing can be a problem otherwise

I'm stuck @ home again today and, fortunately, still have power. I started driving to work this morning and received a phone call that they were closed(no power) when I was halfway there. Thank goodness that my area wasn't hit nearly as hard as some areas to the South & East. I saw lots of debris on roadways and many traffic lights out this morning. Has anyone heard from 'Nightstalker'? The Jersey shore seems to have taken the brunt of the storm and I certainly hope he(and his Family) are ok.

Prayers for you that are affected by Sandy...

Just got power back at work! Still out at home but at least I can check RLD here. We had a lot of trees fall down in my area but no significant damage beyond that. Hope everyone else here was that fortunate!

I'm alive and well, we where lucky only loosing power for a few days alond with some vinyl siding. Then got power back and lost cable phone and internet. So after wallowing around in the 15" of water in my brothers house for a few days......It snows! 2 to 3 inches is predicted, I had a good 10" to a foot at my house. After digging out made it to work (our school is located inside Historic Hanger 1 at Lakehurst, yea the Hindenburg hanger) to find a waterlogged building. Still working on that, gonna be busy for a while but I'll be lurking. Thanks for the thoughts Gang. Kory, aka Nightstalker
