Beater trucks...
worn paint and fresh tires...looking forward to this one... Memorial day beater booster beat down...??? long twisty track, one booster...furthest distance wins? I have a booster around here somewhere...now to find some fresh D batteries
Cool set up TE... Brother and I had a TEE shaped oval with super chargers before we got sizzlers, finally got a fat track... [left it at my folks house when they sold the place]... I know stroller wanted to have fastest team with slowest team... we will save that for his return... I want to have one of each team's cars run down the steep 1/8 mile, then trip the Sloppy Turnabout switch, releasing the team's other car for the flatter return trip to the timer... all cars will run in both directions, fast and slow lanes... All teams will post [1] combined team time... low team time wins... To make the double headers different I may add 1" to 2" shims to the finish area for both directions... Steep section will run mostly DRAG TRACKS track, return lane is all HW orange... micro-wizard timing... ... set it up C10...
Whoa, so many cool ideas flying around! Here's what I'm thinking. Now that the CCC/Sedan/ Winter Nationals are over (well, for me hosting), I can start messing around with some different track layouts...and finally get my Pony Wars cars put together (and Keef921's)...and get my head wrapped around getting cars to go around corners...and through loops and over jumps! The Pony Wars are running next month...and the trans-Am race is after that. And since they are, basically the same cars, you can run your Pony Wars Cars in the Tran-Am race if you want to...or you can run both your Trans-Am and your Pony Wars car in the Trans-Am race...allowing everyone two teams of cars (5 total)...sound cool? THEN, we run the Beater Truck Tough Truck contest after that! And, just like last weekend, I could run the Beaters against the Ponys/Trans-Am to start off the Trucks For the Beaters, I think each host should come up with their own contest...and each host should do a double header (drag race and whatever their contest is) As for the Beater contests, look at it like, "this is what I used to do to my cars when I was a kid"....jump contests, distance contests, hill climb, races with loops...whatever. Whew, give me some feedback...I'd love to see a bunch of old, well-worn trucks tearing around a track! And racing the really cool looking Camaros and Mustangs!

No weight added yet and the wheels are just test fit...but it's looking pretty cool!
What weight do we want to run...57 grams? Heavier? There's pretty good interest in these trucks...when do you want to run them?

I have to admit, I've been wanting to build a Larry's Towing wrecker since I started on RLD. It was one of my favorites as a kid!
