carl, it bonds the castings to each other... chops, filled windows, it won't stop the axles from spinning or sliding side to side, if you use it to attatch them...not like j.b. weld... i will try scratching /marring the axle surface where the p. p. would be ?...
Is J.B. Weld usually used for bonding metal body parts together?
can't speak for all but ... yes...
where j.b.weld is a 2 tube epoxy mix, plumber's putty comes in 1 tube, take it out cut off what you need wrap it back up, slide back in the tube. knead the chunk till lighter grey, pack it into the spot you want it...
it is not heavy... a hot dog size tube weighs 56 grams...hope it helps !
Smitty, will the plumbers putty bond two parts together? Or is it just used as a filler?
