Okay, pivot for what im sending. Trying a ton of new stuff with this build and its all last minute cause thats just how I roll, apparently. Lotus M250 is my project car... using Chameleon paint and i'm going to attempt to run without FTEs. Stock Axles with as much polishing and graphite on as I possibly can do! So far, its going about as well as any car i've built. aka, its slow. However, i've put so many layers of paint on cause its not getting the look I want that it might add a few grams onto it!

The other car will either be a boring stocker or my Lamborghini Countache FTE mod. The car is pretty junk as far as straight-line speed goes. But hey, maybe around turns it wont be as bad? Eh, it wouldn't be a WorpeX entry if it doesn't compete for last place anyhow! I do want to rebuild it, but with the speed the M250 is going, that probably wont happen.

Gotta get them done by next week to make the deadline... time's running out!

  • Just do what you can! Better to be at the bottom of the list than not on it in the first place I figure. — Mattman213
  • As long as you're having fun...all good — LeagueofSpeed

Just tore down one of my GMS F40's...you actually have to mount the axels to the body...also found some wheel rub had been going on with the back hatch...so I'll be filing that down in places...first time taking a F40 apart...never seen a car put together like this...looking forward to it...Outlaw Racing build.

Thought about a Smitty rivet for the front...but the proper axel channel is on the body as pictured...but loving something different...one back wheel was shot...so it's Stock days were over.

  • I've got a couple apart and they are intriguing for sure. I have a thin axle version and a couple newer thicker axle and they are odd balls. Does yours have the front axle notches in the body a little wonky? Both my thicker axle cars have one groove deeper than the other so the axle wasn't even side to side. — Mattman213
  • Also, I'm in need of a hatch for another I have apart. It's my childhood car and I can't seem to find the broken hatch anywhere. I'm hunting another broken hatch or beater car to snag one off of to complete the car — Mattman213
  • I think a lot of cars from that era were put together in some creative ways. The Testarossa was real weird when I took that apart too. I'm curious how you resolve the wheel rub issue, I have a blue F40 that's been sitting on my shelf with rubbing so bad it doesn't go all the way down the ramp! — WorpeX
  • My axel channels are even...but can see how they could easily get off from the factory — LeagueofSpeed
  • I'm gonna file it down...doesn't need much for clearance — LeagueofSpeed

Progress pics... Chameleon paint looks better in person but coming along. Bought a chrome pen for some details. Looks Sharp!

  • Dang! Bringing some style... I can’t paint... this looks great — Traction-Event
  • Agreed...very nice — LeagueofSpeed
  • Its fine, you'll lap it on the track i'm sure! Speed tests have not gone well so far! haven't done a body test yet though. — WorpeX
  • Lookin goooooood! — Mattman213

Trying to get my team cars in this week. GT Racer is modded and ready, just waiting on the Vette to arrive so I can get it modded and shipped. Looking forward to joining in the fun. The GT Racer is my first mod, and this will be my first race.

  • Glad to have you in the field...Bootleg Run is a lot of fun...looking forward to watching your cars make their run — LeagueofSpeed
  • GT Racer is one of my favorite castings as of lately, hope it does really well! — Mattman213
  • Dig. Like the paint on that GT Racer. It's a casting that's grown on me. Mine's just boring gold color. — redlinederby
  • I got the Vette modded this weekend and the cars to the post office this morning. Excited to enter my first race with you guys! — customLEDbikes
  • I'll be on the lookout — LeagueofSpeed

Finished! It's really quick down the drop! Then it hits the straight and it seems to carry none of that speed with it! Oh well. In the end, it's about the same speed as the testarossa from the rookie challenge. :/ I tried. Anyway, it's gorgeous! At least I got that part down!

  • This race it may not matter! Looks awesome tho for sure! — Mattman213
  • When you watch it, it takes a big lead on the drop then loses it instantly after the transition. It looks like it might be scrapping the ground but I can't see anything actually hitting. super frustrating! — WorpeX
  • Might sound crazy but try covering the transition area with a little bit of chalk, run the car and see if there are chalk marks on the chassis. — ChiefWopahoo
  • Great idea! No chalk though, closest I have is Onion Powder. Not sure if that would work the same or just make it smelly! — WorpeX
