Bootleg Run - The Super Cars
FINALLY got everything narrowed down, worked on, cleaned up and HOPEFULLY ready to be somewhat competitive. Complete crap shoot in that department as I picked the cars Im sending based on a track setup thats NOTHING like Bootleg Run, but had turns built in. These cars were literally the only ones that even made it to the end of my test track out of the 30+ that I tested. We did one modded car and one stocker per team to see if it would increase the chances of each team conquering the track.
My entries:
Modded Chrome Shelby. Slowest car of the group for whatever reason on my straight track but it dominated the janky curvy track we tested on initially.
Stock Predator Porsche 928. This car was bought as a beater that barely rolled due to rusty axles. Red Pill's Speed Shop video got me thinking that it could be resurrected so I let it soak in WD40 Rust Remover and worked each wheel loose gradually over time. At this point I had 3 wheels that spun like they should and one that was being stubborn. We all know one bad wheel can ruin a car but I didnt give up. This is where I went into Red Pill's method and went between the Rust Remover and regular WD40, working the wheel till it loosened up. It still never quite got to spinning as freely as the rest till I worked it with some graphite and it now spins like a champ and the car rolls out compared to where it used to be. You can see the darker front wheel in the pic from all the work. I tossed it into the pile to test for this race and was shocked when it was one of the only cares to consistently make the turns and finish the track. Not only that but in a straight line its the second fastest car to the Modded Aston my Son and Wife's team is sending

Modded Aston. Surprisingly the quickest of the group in a straight line and still manages to handle the curves like a champ.
Stock Matchbox Laser Wheels Porsche 928. This was another shocker to me and we actually waffled between it and another Matchbox Ferrari 308 with Starburst wheels. I think the 928 was eventually picked because it was quicker in a straight line and because I was sending a 928 as well lol. This little sucker scoooots with nothing more than some graphite on the axles tho Im gonna keep my eye on whether the "suspension" travel these cars have becomes an issue as it would occasionally get unsettled down the track.
Super excited to take our first crack at the fabled Bootleg. Looking forward to seeing how it goes!

- I builts a goofy little setup using some 60's turns that goes down the incline, turns 90* away from each other, then 180* back towards the center coming together with a 90* turn to head towards the finish line. It took a long time to get it consistent and not throw all the cars off and even then these cars were the only ones that consistently made clean passes. No clue how to make them any faster as Ive never done this before but I look forward to seeing how they do. Ide love to build a similar track one day for sure tho. I had alot of fun flinging car after car off losing hope and then suddenly a car would complete the course making it all worth it. — Mattman213

I'm not sure how my 2 speedy stock entries will match up to the amazing modded cars, but the fun will be watching it all no matter what!!

33 Teams/66 Cars...there will be a Win to Get In race on each side of the Bracket...then Rd of 64 will be 2 parts...then Rd of 32...then SW16 to Final...Team Show will precede Racing.
