BRAGGIN' WAGON 2 (for Rookies Only)

If you've never raced at Shavano Mountain Raceway (or didn't qualify to race), you have less than 2 years of racing experience, and you have 0 diecast tournament wins, then this is for you!!!

Rules & restrictions

• 20 rookies are needed. The top 16 in the qualifying round will race.
• Must be a 1:64 diecast station wagon model.  Modified entries only. No stock.
  • Size limit: 3.25in. long x 1.5in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• No wheel hogging.  No grinding down or shaving off the body.  You are allowed to grind off/shave off the front scoop to meet clearance.  See below.
• No race number is required.
• Wheel/axle swapping is encouraged.  Must be the same diameter tires used.  Use slicks for best drifting.
• 52-60g maximum weight. No tungsten putty allowed.
  
  • Weight distribution: Aim for a 50/50 weight distribution front-to-rear.  If the wagon is too aft loaded it will spin out on the drift pad.
  • No added weight should be visible.  Painting or tinting the windows is allowed.
• Custom paint job is encouraged.
  • Using stickers, sharpies, paint pens, and brush paint is allowed.
  • Keep graphics clean.  No offensive or hateful graphics will be accepted.
• Limit 1 entry
• Dry lube only, silicone with very small amounts of lube allowed.
• Be sure your wagon meets the front end clearance minimums.

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by Saturday, 11/7/2026. Racing is scheduled in the winter. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

Race format and scoring

Time trials determine the top 16 drivers that race.  Single elimination tournament.

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify to participate.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track will forfeit their position. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins.
