Build Journal: Die Cast Drag Racing In The Desert

We just recently purchased a new four bedroom home and that has allowed me to use an entire room for my track / studio / build room. This room is a smaller, so I have laid the track out diagonal across the room allowing me to have a racing surface of 13.6 feet. My last layout was just over 9 feet so this a big improvement. My hope is these races will be more entertaining and bring in more racers for mail in races. I started by building two seven foot tables from 1x2s, covering them with foam board and adding foam boards for the backdrop. I have a set of LED lights above the track and two 8000 lumen garage lights off to the right, that can not be seen in these images. The majority of the track surface is two sets of the adventrure force drag race set and some original hot wheels track. The starting line is 19 inches from the track surface and the ramp is just over 36 inches, so it has a decent incline. Timing is still through the Slanman DTS2 to finish off the build.
