Closed out my points series last night

Jobe Tuesday, 5/3/2011

Last night was the last of my 3 race points series...won hands down by my buddy Morgan...who won all three races.
Last night it was his 80's vintage Porsche 928 that took the cake...nice all metal car. He actually had to run against himself for the win! Other car was a gold F-40. The new Ferrari 458 FTE and VW Thing FTE were the other cars in the running.
Had many races go to best of 3.

I'm going to restructure my points series, the point spread was too big for only 3 races. I'm thinking something really basic like 1 point for every bracket made. You get 1 point for entering and 1 point for each advance....ok maybe make it 10 points so it sounds better.

Also did two 8 car buy-in races. 50's and 60's cruisers and 70's Muscle cars.
the new release '53 chevy took the cruiser class and the Dixie Challenger took the 70's Muscle race on a coin flip lane choice!

Good night of racing...it was in the 50's! Sunday it was in the 90's, then a cold moved in. Crazy Texas weather...

Very cool, glad to hear it went well. Sounds like your point series just needs some refinement and you'll be good - trust me, even in the fantasy league it's taken a lot of tweaking to get things right (and sometimes it still bites me in the arse).

Did your friends keep their score cards through the season?

I'm also starting to think about new ways to enjoy the fantasy league, possibly with some buy-in side game. I liked the original idea of having a garage like we did in the first season so I'd like to explore something like that but keep in manageable and work within regular season races.

Sounds like it was all good fun. I'll make it down there one monday night, lol.

I agree on the points... they can be a bear

OH we have fun, no doubt about that. Lots of ribbing each other between the racers...good times.

I was mistaken, the F40 took the race not the Porsche 928. Both all metal cars, both very very fast.

Yes, they all kept their cards with the points on them. We didn't fill them out on the last race, but the idea was good.

Working on some stickers and possibly a limited run of t-shirts...who wants one?

I'll trade you for a Redline Derby t-shirt Finishing up a few more designs and then I'm gonna throw up a CafePress store just for giggles.

Austin Diecast and Redline Derby T-shirts would be awesome. Let me know when they're available

I got Texas diecast racing shirts on the way for Nashville, lol! Sounds like we'll have to have a shirt swap.
