Coolest real cars you’ve seen (not at a car show)

Living and working in Phoenix AZ, I drive through Scottsdale at least 3 times a week and see plenty of Ferrari's, McLaren's, Lambo's etc... but I probably see the coolest stuff in Mesa where I work. I'm surrounded by shops that specialize in custom and restoration work. I'm going to post just a few of the best. If you're a fan of Barrett-Jackson you might recognize one or two. By far #1 is this 1960's Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2

I live near Road America and get there often. At bigger races, the parking lot is often like a car show. All the rich Chicago folks drive up in their best exotic sports cars just to show them off. I've seen a lot of rare and exotic stuff just parked there with all the other spectators cars.

@DrDodge: Sadly, I do not. For a while, it was being kept at his widow's house. The tank was built as a show dragster, and could spin those big treads just like someone spinning the tires on a regular car. If I remember correctly, the engine was a big-block Chevrolet with a Rochester intake and custom exhaust. As to wheere it is now, I have no idea, but I think Anita said that it had been bought by another drag racer to be restored. — SpyDude
This was originally a wheelstander. I saw it several times when I was a kid, sparks flying from the rear as it made it's way down the quarter mile. One of my favorite memories as a child. — RayRaySugar
@RayRay: No, that was the first version, the original Hell On Wheels (the black one). It was actually a fiberglass shell of a tank over a dragster frame. This one was originally a missle launcher that was being used for target practice. The mechanic and welder who did the bodywork told me that he put fifteen MILES of aluminum wire into it to seal up all of the target practice holes. I have one of the original press release packets around ehre somewhere, with all of the specs and history, given to me by Bob Perry's widow, Anita. — SpyDude

Had a buddy back when i was living in Denver ask if I wanted to go drive lamborghinis cause he had a groupon...hahahahaha. I ended up paying extra and drove an Italia 458. That was pretty dope.

Holdens utes were based off sedans, so they didnt really have a name change. In the 60s, 70s a Holdent Kingswood, sedan would have a Holden Kingswood Ute. It was mainly in the much later years when they made various sports models they used several different add on names. The Chrysler Valiant was also a sedan , but also a Valiant ute. etc. — CutRock_R_Marc_D

Yes Dr, it is a Valiant ute, probably a CM or CL series, circa late 70s. I had a sedan version that I used as a tow car for my race bar. Ha, I knicknamed it the "Battlestar" It had a 265 Aussie Hemi — CutRock_R_Marc_D
