Cops and Robbers II - The Chase

Sorry for the delay, but I need all the light I can get upstairs of my garage...

18' 4" total.... The 1" plus reverse incline at the tracks end lets all but a couple cars roll backwards to the transfer.... Less chasing and helps keep track of who is in which lane...

The "doggie box" trays are for helping keep track of winners and losers...no cars roll off the table... the Gridiron gave me a dozen of 'em...

Cars arrived yesterday but I didn't have the chance to open them. The box shows no sign of trauma so hopefully none of the entries need and mechanical attention. 

For the brackets I'm thinking of the first round being everyone that had a bye last week, random drawing for the matches. All first round cars from last week would get the bye this week. One car will be drawn from the hat to fill the first round as we need six cars but there are only five byes. Does that sound okay?

FRIDAY RACING!  

So, I checked the cars last night and got the brackets done for racing on Sunday at the LJLRC meeting. No pics yet but I'll try taking them tonight and post with the brackets.

Last night I decided to run them here at my house. I put all numbers, separating Cops and Robbers in a container and did a random draw. Early this morning before work I ran the Cops and then the Robbers. You have to wait until later for results. I still have to race the top 4 against each other for the overall winner. 

Time to rob and roll!  Due to getting home late, limited time, and still having problems with the Kodak program constantly shutting down while I'm editing pics, I only have pics of the winners and the bracket sheets.

We'll do the Robbers first.

#41 Romanator takes the first race by 1/3 length.  #47 Rally storms back in the second race to win by a 1/2 car length

Third race has #41 Romanator squeaking ahead by the mustache on his upper lip.  #41 Romanator then seals the two-in-a-row win by the nose above the mustache.

American Muscle just couldn't overtake the Brit as TE's #48 wins both races by a half car length to move on the the final.

#56 Sloppy's gray Willys vs #44 Webber Cabin's black Jackhammer

#56 Sloppy has to do something about that cold as he again takes both races by a nose.

TE's #48 Brit Speed has just a littl too speed for the Willys and takes the win for the Robbers class by 2/3 and 1/2 car lengths.

In the battle for 3rd and 4th the #42 C10's 57 Chevy beat #44 Webber Cabin's black Jackhammer by 2/3 and then 1/2 car lengths.  Congrats to both of you for making it to the Final Four!

Now for the Coppers.  I'm gonna make this a little shorter cause it's getting late & I gotta get to work in the morning.

#39 Clay Feat's Blue Tahoe vs #43 C10's Sheriff's car

  #39 Clay's Tahoe takes the first race by a nose.  C10's Sheriff bounces back to win by a fender in the second race.  But the #39 Tahoe takes the next two races by a quarter car length.

#40 Romanator's yellow Vette vs #54 Stawka's green '56 Buick

  #54 Stawka's old Buick has just enough horses to outrun the #40 Romanator's Vette by a full car and then by 1/2 car length.

#51 Delta's Camaro vs #57 Sloppy's blue '56 Buick

  #51Delta's more streamlined Camaro outruns the nose in the air #57 Sloppy 56 Buick by 3/4 car lengths in both trips down the track.

Round two

#49 Traction Event's Concept Mustang vs #52 Dad's Olds patrol car

  The #49 had no problem out running the the old muscle of the #52, easily taking both races by about 1-1/2 car lengths.  

#45 Webber's new Charger vs #39 Clay's Tahoe

 The #45 Charger proves to be fast, taking the first race by a full car length and the second by 3/4 length.

#46 Rally's GTO vs the #54 Buick of Nightstalker.

 The #46 GTO isn't the goat in this race, winning both trips by 3/4 car length.

#37 Stroller's blinged out Hummer vs #51 Delta's Camaro.

The #37 jeweled Hummer flies out of the starting gate and cruises to 3 car length victories over the #51 Camaro in both races.

#45 Webber's Charger vs #49 TE's Mustang

  TE's #45 easily takes both races by 1-1/2 and 1-1/4 car lengths

#46 Rally's GTO vs #51 Delta's Camaro

 Close racing here.  The #46 GTO takes the first race by a half car.  The #51 Camaro takes the second by a nose.  The #46 takes the next to trips down the track winning by 1/2 and then by 1/4 car lengths.

The Finals

#49 TE's Mustang vs #46 Rally's GTO

Close racing down the track, but the #46 GTO of Rally Case manages to stay ahead and wins by 1/2 car length in both races!

In the run off for 3rd and 4th, #51 Delta 6's Camaro narrowly beat the Webber Cabin #45 Charge by 1/2 car lengths in both races.
