From the two separate categories, there were a total of 9 cars competing to avoid the 17th spot. Although I believe it to be a fair way to determine which cars would not make the top 16, I'm not going to award a point to the seven cars that escaped elimination.

Just wanna add that my 5 year old daughter didn't wanna send Lady Lawless along she love love loved that pink car. She said daddy will you build me one a PINK one. What's a dad to do ,of course I said yes! Must say she wanted to kiss it. I told her kiss her hand and rub some luck on it! so Clay Feat now has a #1 fan in Indiana.

There are seven each time? I thought there were fifteen, and then the last random two raced to see which of them would make it into the 16-car bracket.
