Race format and scoring

This will be a double-elimination tournament. The 2 vehicles with the most points will advance to the next round. Bracket seeding will be random.

Checkpoint style scoring will be used. The checkpoints are marked on the side of the course. If any part of the vehicle passes a checkpoint, it will receive the points for crossing.
A 1 point penalty will be added if your vehicle ends up on its side or roof. If your vehicle rolls over and ends up back on its wheels, no penalty will be added.
1 additional point will be added to the first vehicle to cross the line each race, if any vehicles do make it.

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.

Prizes

Put me in

Making the entry official please count me in!  First and hopefully only newbie question;  What qualifies for "Modified entries only?"  Does adding the weight count?  Just want to make sure I have everything right and not get disqualified before I even get on the track!

Thanks again, and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else's taillights upside down from the ditch, LOL.

Sunshine City Garage

  • Yes.....adding weight would classify as modified. — Dutch_Clutch_Racing
  • Yes. You should add weight, especially on the base to lower the center of gravity. Just not do much you get caught up on the jumps. — ManiacMotorsports
  • Taking the car apart and working on the inside is basically what modified means — ManiacMotorsports
