Track

Starting at TranSport Diecast Racing in California it will move to the the new Monster Motorsports Pacific Rim Raceway, then on to RTR Diecast Racing League, Jackson Pass Speedway, the new WeRaceDiecast themed diorama track, then Live Young Diecast before making the longest leg of the journey all the way down to NZ for the finals. Races will take place over a month at each track and will be on the individual channels YouTube channels

Race format and scoring

There is four races per track, four cars per race (max field of 32), alternating start positions each time.
Points are awarded for finishing positions each race: 5pts for 1st, 3pts for 2nd, 2pts for 3rd, 1pt for 4th and 0pts for DNF
If a car ends on it's roof, off track etc it just scores 0pts for that race and is reset for the next one.
The sets of four cars will be mixed up at each track so that you aren't stuck against the same opponents at every track (there may be the occasional double up with some competitors) to try and keep it even and fair.
If there are more than the max 32 entries, then there will be qualifying races to determine the top 32 competitors

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for the tournament

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will score 0pts for thsoe races. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will attempt to be minimally repaired so they can continue.

Prizes

All the cars from the tournament.

I have not had any luck with the website, it says that im signed up, but i can not see or post on the site? I would love to enter if there is still openings...

  • Hi Jim. I'll look into it for you. We are currently over the max entries so everyone will have to qualify to make it into the actual DIRS. Message me your email and screen name at the Canyon and I'll look into it for you — Chaos_Canyon
  • Already? This thing filled up fast. Oh well, I can wait for the next go-round when I have a little more experience. — SpyDude
  • @ spy dude you can still enter but the car will have to qualify... to be able to race the 7 tracks.... — RAGTAG_JIM

If the car doesn't qualify, it will be returned. How about the entry fee?

  • Hi Peter, TranSport have said they will still run a race for any cars that don’t make the actual dirs and possibly also enter his KotM tournament. Entry fee is non-refundable as this covers the return of the vehicles and helps offset the major costs of shipping the cars internationally — Chaos_Canyon
  • That makes sense. Just had to ask. Looking forward to it! — Peter_Bee

Can I enter a maserati?

  • I would guess if it looks like a real car like you'd see on the street, sure. — Peter_Bee
  • Yes you can but we had asked for them to be based on American cars so there was a similar feel to all the cars but you won’t get disqualified for it — Chaos_Canyon
  • I'm sending an American car, but the custom paint job sucks. But that's what the rules call for so..... — Peter_Bee
  • I somehow missed the part about it being a more common American muscle car. I chose a real car with a Ford GT-90, but yeah, they only ever made one and it's not the most standard of Fords. — Big_Al

Well, I built 3 cars and this one gives me the best shot at qualifying. She ain't pretty, so I hope she's fast and straight enough. I would have preferred to keep the stock paint job, but the rules say it has to be custom. I don't see how that makes the cars race better, but rules are rules lol.

Hey Everyone,

Thanks to all the drivers that entered the competition, and to the track owners for their work. We pulled off an insane competition where we raced every Monday across 8 different tracks in 2 different countries (on opposite sides of the world) for 9 months consecutively, and never missed a beat once - no easy task!

It's time for me to review and take stock of the competition and make some decisions around what is going to happen next year with the DIRS. I'll keep everyone up to date with what's happening as decisions are made.

Here are all the results - so SPOILERS AHEAD it you haven't seen the final yet, check it out. It was the most epic way to finish such and epic series. And if you want to check it all out, use the playlist here as it runs from the qualifying all the way to the finish so you can see the mammoth amount of work that went into it all. www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjHfp56kTNditZVu_UzKShwN66h7RfyfT

Thanks again. Now, here's the final scores and positions.
