Do I "Need" An Ultrasonic Cleaner?

I'm wondering what you would use it for. Would be interesting to see if it strips the paint off. Maybe restoring old and dirty thrift store finds?

I use one occasionally when testing out Different lubes, pretty good at getting everything out of the wheels and axles on stock cars. You have to be careful if you use a solvent though as some things will eat paint and windows and tires.

in the cal lab, I ran water in the tank,

and put the parts in a small good quality baggie, with alcohol in it

that way you use tap water to fill the tank,

and can use different solvents without needing a whole tank full

they work great for lots of stuff

Interesting. An ultrasonic cleaner would be a cool thing to have.

I use the ultrasonic cleaner at work to remove paint. It strips the paint off in about five minutes and it's water based, so I really don't have to worry much about damaging the body. 

This is 2 posts now where I've read about the "Ultrasonic Cleaner" in one day lol. I'd like to see if somebody gained more speed from using one! 

What is an ultrasonic cleaner? It sounds like something a Starfleet engineer would use to clean plasma injectors.
