I think this is too much like an arcade game this way and my old hands couldn't do it. Hell when I was younger I couldn't do arcade games either............ ................... .........love those smilies!!

I want my expert racers set to run the "Pro-Start" style lights...
first...both pair of staging lights ;
then...pass 1st pair of yellow lights ;
and...launch on the 2nd pair of yellow lights ;
i already cut one of the speaker wires...

I'm confused Smitty You want the cars to launch when the second set of yellow lights hit? I real drag racing, you would release the brake when the last yellow light hit, but the car would not react till the green hit. (Takes a little bit for it to get going after the brakes let go.) Or you would release when all the yellow lights hit on a pro tree.

I want the second yellow light because I don't want to wait for the green light every pass if I don't have to...
I built a tape covered box that I slid down over the x mas tree... it shows the times, staging and green lights only...with no revving sound..
the system slows down with battery wear, [I use ac converter]...
but it is an out-rite riot when the batteries started to slow... guys just couldn't wait for the slower light sequence...all red lighted...

Oh I see, your making so it's like launching with a car that has electronic brake delay, right? I forgot about electronics in cars.

Awesome show! They were huge here in Iowa and would make lots of visits. I still see the shows on PBS some times and have downloaded some of the shows for the boys. Now they know why I sometimes say, Keep your stick on the ice.

Don't forget the Man's prayer-
I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess.

DROPPED OFF MY DRAG TRACKS' STARTER, FINISH, AC ADAPTOR AND STARTER SWITCH AT BEST BUYS...
GUY SAYS $40.00 TO DISMANTLE AND RE-ASSEMBLE...
HE FEELS A JUMPER FROM START TO ANY OF THE LIGHTS MAY BE EASY... I ASKED, HE AGREED TO DRAW UP A SCHEMATIC FOR THE FIX...I'LL GET IT BACK NEXT WEEK... LET YOU KNOW
...
HMMM. WITHOUT REACTION TIME THE LANES WOULDN'T HAVE TO BE PERFECTLY EQUAL ...
2 PASSES PER PAIRING, CARS SWAP LANES AFTER 1 PASS, TAKE AN AVERAGE OF BOTH THE CAR'S TIMES, LOWEST TIME = WINNER..
THIS COULD OPEN UP THE FEARED "SMITH BROS." CHALLENGE "'70 TO '73" = THE DOWNHILL, A 90*, THEN A 180*, THEN ANOTHER 90* AND A SHORT RUNOUT TO THE FINISH LINE IN EACH LANE...
[ DOWN THE STAIRS AND OUT INTO THE HALL... WHEN DAD WASN'T HOME] .... T.B.A.

Smitty,

I remember those days. We started in '68 though! The middle of the house was a 22' X 3" hallway. We could fit the drag strip and two return tracks and up to 6 kids sprawled out on the floor and in the doorways for Saturday afternoon races!

Hey, have any of you had any problems with heavier cars and your Drag Tracks. I have a few heavier cars that seem to cause the start mechanism to stick on my Drag Tracks race track and the cars just sit there.

welcome aboard... see you in lane two !
yes I have. I put a 75 gram limit on the track,,, if you don't use an AC converter, check your batteries.... and gently depress the starter pins and let them "snap" back up...don't oil them...
