I HAVE A DRAG TRACKS / EXPERT RACERS...SET... IT AUTOMATICALLY ADDS THE RE-ACTION TIMES AND ELAPSED TIMES FOR THE POSTED "TIME"...
DO ANY OF YOU HAVE A DRAG TRACKS SET THAT ONLY POSTS ELAPSED TIME...?...I WANT TO ALTER MINE TO DO JUST THAT...
I WANT THE FIRST YELLOW LIGHT TO LAUNCH THE CARS AND RECORD THE ELAPSED TIME ONLY... IDEAS...

Is that the version that you can set up to release both cars off one controller?

Went back to the web sites - it seems that you can only do solo runs if you flip the switch...

Smitty I have the same DT version you have. I have not yet done it, but my plan is to make the foot pedal automatic...so the cars are released when the green light hits. I need to dig into the wiring and board to see if that is possible. I tried to contact the maker of DT, who happens to live and work here in Michigan close to my work...but after 3 attempts to contact him...I have given up and will try to sort it out on my own. The issue here is the track and components may have been designed here in the USA, but it's assembled in some 3rd world country, or by parolee's. Small wires, and poor solder joints from what I can see so far.

The new version of the track gives RT and ET seperate...But I would like to not buy another track might be as easy as a wire swap....

If I figure it out I'll put a how to up.

I'm not sure how the controls look. But could you duct tape them together and then pull both triggers at the same time?...Just a thought....

Or tape a wooden/metal ruler over the foot type remotes (setting side by side) and press both at the same time?

I have the more expensive Super Sport version. You can flip the switch so that you can have both cars launch at the same time using only one of the pedals. I discovered that the R.T. and E.T. are added also. Another thing I noticed is that the lights are too quick. (In real life a full tree has a .5 second delay between lights, whereas the Drag Tracks set has about a .3 second delay between the lights.) I hope they come out with an updated version of it.

mine is an expert racers set [old] it has a one player switch... one switch starts both lanes... but I want true times not reaction times...I wired in 12 volt push button starter switches instead of the foot pedals...[push with thumb]
i soldered a light activated switch from radio shack to a piece of phone jack cord... not enough light from the green start light diode... flash light works fine... needs a very sensitive switch... or the start contact soldered to the green light contact....if that works solder mine to the first yellow light [no waiting]... be watching for more info...

Would be interesting to see the "Red LIght" wiring in the more recent sets. My understanding is that you go as soon as the last yellow light turns off - before the green light comes on - making that .2 secs that K&O notes as a significant time span in the reaction time added.

If I am recalling accurately the newest trees show both the reaction time and elapsed time now right - not the combination?

Milton you are correct, the new one has reaction time and elapsed time, but unfortunately the elapsed time is actually "total" elapsed time, meaning that the reaction time and elapsed time are added together to make the so-called elapsed time. (Did I just say elapsed time too much? ) Also, the fact that the tree being .2 seconds too quick between each light is a major problem. I would think that it affects one's reaction, and could result in easier red lighting. WHen I do red light though, it would be nice to see how badly I red lit. For example, if I launched .23 seconds before the green light hit, I would like to see that I launched .23 seconds too quickly, so I could work on my reaction times, and plus it would be more realistic that way.

I was really good for the time trials, but when it got to the finals I would "red light".. so I would switch to my slightly slower left hand for the finals...

taking my expert racers set up over to best buys next tuesday... the MACHANIC says he thinks he can have it launch when the green light comes on...eliminating the re-action times...
