Error cars

Got my 1st error car (maybe) a week or 2 ago. Got 2 of these in a silent auction on FB. Don't have t 2nd one that I got due to a trade with my buddy @ Southern Die-Cast Challenge. Look at the interior.

In my opinion, I would think that Mattel has pretty high standards for quality control, so most error cars probably never even make it out of the factory. So I would guess they would be considered more rare than even Super TH cars. But as far as having any intrinsic value, it's more of a quirky collectible than a monetary investment. A lot of people like them simply because they are different! — CraigsterSr

I would never pass judgment on a fellow collector who digs errors. When I get to full pegs, my high excitement leads to a "grab now, look later" attitude, and it's burned me more than once. Walter at Hot Line of Diecast once said we shouldn't celebrate Mattel's mistakes, which is something that really stuck with me.

I guess the best error I ever found was a Porsche stuck on a Mustang card, and kept it sealed for a couple of years until deciding a freed Porsche was worth more to me than a goof. At least the car itself was intact

I found an error today that I believe may be worth some decent money to a collector. Probably a one of a kind type thing especially since I found all 3 cards in the same box.

Found my first error last month at the grocery store, a 5 pack with two Astons and no McLaren.

ETA: I forgot I also came across an "error" Redline-era Hot Turn recently that reads "Matte" instead of "Mattel" on one of the seals

Picked up an MBX 5-pack today and noticed "Dodge ChallAnger" on the side. Not a true error since I assume they all have the typo but still interesting to see what makes it past QC!

Been trying to find this thing since the first time I saw it. Finally found these today at Target, and one of them is an error (quality control issue).
