Fast car on Ebay

ConceptTA Saturday, 1/4/2014

Hey all,

Was browsing Ebay and saw this listing for a JL '68 Shelby GT500. Not my listing and I have nothing to do with the seller. Just thought it was a smokin' deal on what is my current fastest racer. It's a heavy casting (58 g) that rarely loses a race and looks nice with a chrome finish. Just thought there might be some interest in others fastest cars.

Note: It's listed as a '65 Mustang, but it really is a '68 Shelby GT500

I havent had much success with the JLs that I have tested. Was yours fast out of the blister pack or did you tune it any?

It was fast out of the package. I haven't altered it at all. It came in a KB Toys 5 pack that I had for over 10 years and never opened. There were 2 other fast cars out of that pack as well. A 94 Dodge Ram (orange w/ black racing stripes) and a ;70 Torino (Sprectraflame-like deep red with exposed engine). The 72 Trans Am (Blue) looks fantastic, but is just a middle of the pack runner, and the 41 Willys (Green) was a dud that didn't roll well.

I have had good luck with JL's overall. A 69 Firebird and 68 T-Bird are good runners as well.

Nice lookin' car...reminiscent of the old HW club cars. My collection of modern JLs is lacking but the few that I have are good performers. My only gripe about them is how loose the wheels appear to spin on the axles. While "loose" is normally a 'good thing', some of them are loose enough that the wheels won't spin on a common axis which can cause stability issues.
