Fastest Mainline by Year/2008

iowastockcars Friday, 12/27/2013

I thought it might be interesting to see what people have seen as the fastest stock mainline cars, from year to year. Up Next-2008.

http://texashwcollectors.org/hwguide/2008.html

These are my top 10, based on our cars and seeing what performs well in the racing league that we are part of. This was a really hard list for me to complete. I really struggled finding 10 cars. Not a good year for racers.

And yes, I will distinguish by color. I have seen too many differences from one casting to another with the same car/different paint job to not think that there is an impact. Maybe from different production runs?

That's an ugly bunch.

I agree some of them don't quite have the most stellar looks, but what matters the most is that they are FAST.
Some of them look pretty good though, like the Fire Eater for example, as it is one of my favorite castings.

Like K&O mentioned, lightened metal base. Regretably, I still don't own a metal-bodied Escalade. I've been holding out for an FTE version...probably one of the most desirable FTEs so its difficult to find one priced reasonably.

And speaking of above average performance on my track.

Agreed! The 2011 versions that I have raced have been pretty good (Mainline and the Mystery Car). Now, do you take out the missile and let the air through when you race it or do you keep it in?? My boys think taking out the missile helps them.

I usually try to keep the missle interesting on Fat Track.
