I thought it might be interesting to see what people have seen as the fastest stock mainline cars, from year to year. Up Next-2011.

These are my top 10 cars, based on our cars and seeing what performs well in the racing league that we are part of. And yes, I will distinguish by color. I have seen too many differences from one casting to another with the same car/different paint job to not think that there is an impact. Maybe from different production runs?

Those Javelins have the narrower axles too.

The Ferrari 458-FTE's deserve the legendary status they've attained around here.

My #1 from 2011 is the same brown Ford Mustang GT, I'm going to enter it in the Fords Fords Fords event

The 10 Mustangs have all been duds for me. They are mediocre at best. Tried 3 of them, plus a handful of the Silver 2013 9 car pack variants. All about the same speed.

Now that Javelin on the other hand is outstanding. It is my Fastest Hot Wheels car and, points wise, has been my #1 car ever since it hit the track. It went undefeated for over 50 races to start and ended my Season 1 (10 races) with a 60-1 race record, but undefeated overall, winning all 6 races. it even earned the highest points of the season even though it missed the first 4 races. I have since bought 2 more for reserves.

Overall, out of 7 different Javelins, only 1 has been a dud, a 2011 Dark Blue Kmart FTE2. And even that is a slightly above average performer.

I just recently opened some of the 2001 67 Firebirds, and they are great also. The light blue, pink, gray, and green variants of this deco all run well. The green and Dark Blue 1st editions are great too. Worst variant of these so far is the Red 1st edition, and still a plus performer.

I forgot to add, in season 2, the brown Javelin is still #1 in points through 8 races (77-14 record). However, a Johnny Lightning 68 Shelby GT500 is winning more races and closing in on it, even though it only has 6 races.

A lot of agreement here on iowa's list. The grey Italia FTEs do seem to be faster than the blue ones. The only gold Javelin FTE I ever purchased was a dud and the blue one is, indeed, mediocre. I'm still looking for a good gold one though. I only have 1 2010 Mustang(dk blue) and it is fast but not very consistent. And the green Firebird 400 w/oh5s is very fast for a non-FTE...it takes graphite pretty well too.

Starting to feel like I missed the boat! I only have the one blue 458 from this MY and it is not fast - at all.

I just found the blue 458 at a Target the other day, along with a handful of other 2011's. Appears they putout a box of old stock. Also found the copper Javelin, an orange 68 COPO Camaro and a few others.

Becoming a new Daddy 2 days ago means I won't be racing for awhile though.

Nonsense....in a few months, he/she will be able to visually track fast moving objects. Just put him/her in a bouncy seat positioned trackside and you've got a 'spectator sport'.
