Hi everyone.
I'd like your opinion(s) please about my first event here with this Group: Muscle Cars at Timber Creek.
I thought I was heading in the right direction with setting up and getting involved, but, I have had some negative comments. This is fine, but I'd like to understand what I could have done better, or should have done better.

A little about me!
I'm thrilled to be joining this incredible community of diecast racing enthusiasts. My name’s Brent, and while I now call upstate New York home, I originally hail from Australia, where my lifelong love of diecast cars was born.
Why I Joined
Growing up, diecast cars weren’t just toys, they were treasures to me. That early passion has never faded. Now, with youngsters in the family, I’m eager to pass along the joy of hands-on play, creativity, and friendly competition, giving them something to enjoy beyond screens and Xbox controllers.
RedLineDerby caught my attention as the perfect outlet to share that excitement, get involved with others who share the same obsession, and, most importantly, host events that welcome everyone, from seasoned pros to curious newcomers (that's me!).
What I Bring to the Track
Beyond collecting, I love restoring and modifying cars. Whether it’s tweaking for speed or reviving a classic shell, the craft of building better, faster cars is a huge part of what fuels me. I also firmly believe in sharing ideas, offering feedback, and learning from the community, improvement is a journey best traveled together.
Merging Design and Racing
As a designer, I love bringing creativity into every aspect of my hobbies. That’s why I’m especially excited to build my own website, video and contribute my custom apparel and gear as prizes... think limited-edition t-shirts, mugs, and ball caps for race winners and standout entries. Just wanting to add more fun and something different.

I’m here to participate, collaborate, and hopefully continue to host events that are as thrilling as they are welcoming. I'm also super keen to build out my track and grow with you all, as so far I've seen some amazing tracks and knowledge sharing in the forum.

Gotta be honest, with a name like OzBoy I was thinking about shipping costs to Australia.

- Oh, glad you stated this. I also thought your track was in Oz because of the mention of Sydney. I was already writing off coming to your track because shipping and customs export rules are a PITA for international events. Canada is as far as I will consider. — BadWoolRacing
- Yes that would be a pain for sure! I have to send birthday and Christmas cards a good 3 months in advance to make sure they get there in time! But rest assured, I'm getting into this for the first time, and I've got a lot of 'learning' to do. 3DBot got me hooked during Covid lockdown! — Road_Runner_Rumble
You have two videos on your channel so far. That might not be enough to garner a lot of responses to race mail in modified at your track, given the effort and expense behind building cars. Folks may want to see more to gauge how you run stock events before committing

I would start off with a Rip and Race.
My advice would be to post more races, possibly do "Pick Your Ride" races (like was mentioned), and possibly build some cars and enter them in other track host events.
I did a "Pick Your Ride" tournament on my channel (currently in a rebuild and scenic upgrade) and have tried to enter as many races as I can.
Some people might be somewhat hesitant to enter fearing you are a possible scam because of how new you are. Making your name present here for a bit might ease those fears.
In any case, welcome to this wonderful group and hobby!

Your lead time from first posting about the race to actual race date is daunting. For some people that isn't enough turn around time to source and build a car. Consider giving 60 - 90 days minimum for advanced notice in the future.
