Fingernail Polish
I've seen mention of airbrushing, rattle can, and paint markers to paint cars. I'm curious if anybody uses fingernail polish? I'd think adding some thinner to reduce the thickness.....does it work well or not?

I use gel nail polish for stamping designs, but I haven't tried painting an entire car.

I brush clear polish over decals to hold them down sometimes, but I've never tried painting with it.
I have used nail polish through my airbrush. I thinnned it down with laquer thinner. It sprayed ok, but the finish was really rough, kinda like orange peel, but a little different. Also the gloss nail polish was more satin after being sprayed.
I have tried to use the supplied brush to apply black nail polish to windows, but it came out like crap. ZIt would not cover very well and had lots of streaks. Maybe a better brush would have worked better. I haven't tried that.
- Admittedly, I have a fairly limited knowledge of airbrushes and i don't have one personally, but wouldn't that be bad for the airbrush? I don't mean just clogging, but they have rubber and was gaskets that keep the airtight, I would think that the harsh chemicals in the polish and thinner would degrade them. Again, I'm by no means an authority on this, just sorta thinking out loud. — Sunshine_City_Garage
I use a clear nail polish to cover my decails before I spray clear coat over the entire thing.
