Those five magical words: "It's Friday Night Street Racing" that has kicked off five seasons of Diecast Racing here at Snow Valley.  The oldest event here at our track is a "choose your ride" event.  You tell us what casting and preferred colour and vola you are a contestant on our YouTube Diecast Racing Channel.  Making it to the Top 8 Ladder and becoming a mainstay here at Snow Valley is another story.  You have to beat our other drivers for a coveted spot on the ladder.

We don't condone Street Racing unless it is done at 1:64 scale.

Rules & restrictions

Note: this is a "choose your ride" not "mail-in" event

  • Choose Your Ride - Unmodified Stock cars only
  • Real-World Cars Only (something that you might find on the street!)
  • No Trucks or Vans, however Convertibles, Conpact Cars, Station Wagons, Pickups and SUVs are allowed. Prefer Sports Cars (think Fast & Furious)
  • No Dry Lube (If you qualify we apply the Dry Lube for Ladder)

How to enter

Contact the tournament host to choose your ride.  You request a casting that you like and Snake will find you your ride.  There are no fees for joining this event.  Entry is dependant on availability and up to the discretion of the Track Host.

SEASON 6 (2027) - Open

It snows up here in Canada, so the season will start as soon as the snow is gone.

The Top 8 Ladder is full but you can still compete for a shot at the bottom rung and then, if you get in, you can work your way up to the top!  Depending on how many entries we get, we will usually wait for a total of 4 who will then shoot it out on the Snow Valley East downhill track to determine who advances.  The winner will then get dry lube applied and compete for a spot on the ladder.  Not every Friday Night is a competition for the ladder, we have many other events taking place.  So join us and sit back and enjoy the Diecast Racing Mayham that unfolds.  This Seasons Hosts are: Sweet JP, Cooper, and yours and truely, Marcus Firegone.

Last season we got flung into the future, so it is actually the year 2057 now, the year that the Street Coalition Of Racers (SCOR) was formed.

Choose a ride and be a part of the magic that takes place on our Diecast Racing Channel.

SEASON 5 (2026) - [16 Episodes]

An eventfull season to say the least.  Snake drops out and Marcus Firegone gets run over.  Somehow we got flung into the future.  The year is now 2056!  Joined by Sweet JP and new host, Cooper.  We no longer have a place yet to drag race and Snow Valley East has undergone some changes.

Finally, we are able to get around to running our Season 3 contestants.

Contestants:  Psyko, Puff, Magic Mike, V-Rod, and Brandino compete for the last two spots on the Top 8 Ladder.  Now we have a complete ladder.  Sweet JP revived one of these drivers to be the 3rd to compete for a spot on the ladder and ultimately resulted in bumping Grimsetter off.  Also, GR8FLSAM, took aim at the ladder but failed to qualify.

Many other events took place this season, like the IDRL 2.0 Second Chance Cup, Yellowline, the AcceleRacers, the Gumball 3000, and the Vantage LeMans Pre-Race Party.

SEASON 4 (2024) - [1 Episode]

Ok, so Season 4 was a disaster.  We still had contenstants left over from Season 3.  As an attempt to keep going I held a head-to-head racing competition with my Wife.  She choose gassers, and I only had the Snow Valley East downhill track available to me.  The rest is history.

SEASON 3 (2023) - [3 Episodes]

Three words: "Muscle Car Madness".  Our most successful event to date.  We decided to move from the Drag Strip to the Snow Valley East downhill track and conduct a choose your ride race event with you got it, muscle cars.

Contestants:  Black Dragon Racing, PR Racing, Variat Skunkworks, Playz Diecast, Jack John & Katie Racing, Glitter Bomb Race Team, Spirit of '64, Canadian Driving Club, Ra Sungod Racing, Legacy Diecast Racing, Miniature Car Racing, and DamFast Racing.

SEASON 2 (2022) - [1 Episode]

It's Friday Night Street Racing with Snake. We meet at the edge of town at Sparlings Propane near the railway tracks. Friday night we compete, four lanes wide, to determine who is the fastest. Afterwords Drivers hang out at either the Kawartha Dairy or Popeyes.

Contestants:  Romeo, Bolo Brown, Demonpreacher, and Cobra.  Cobra didn't win but took a spot on the ladder anyway.  Now we have 6 of our Top 8 Ladder possitions.

SEASON 1 (2021) - [7 Episodes]

This is where it all started.  It's Friday Night Street Racing with Snake. We started out racing the downtown streets of Orillia, two lanes wide but then had to move out of town.  Virtually we would gather at The Lone Wolf Café. It all started with our very own Snake, Marcus Firegone's son, and a local business, Orillia Diecast.

Test Drivers: Clutch, RamJET, and Nick the "Stuntman"

Our first contestants:  Blake, D.Q. Throttlestuck, and Orillia Diecast, then SpyDude, Grimsetter, and Ace "Mr. Guts" Preston, and finally Blake again, Sam Haul, and Ra Sungod.  This would populate 4 of the 8 spots on the Top 8 Ladder.

Also our first attemps at Monster Truck racing and Yellowline with Sweet JP which ultimately did not pan out.

Track

Racing will be on the Snow Valley East - Open Road Edition ... or a drag strip if we have one available. View track profile and specs

Race format and scoring

Four cars are entered each event to race head to head.  We do four runs with rotating starting positions.  The fastest car gets a shot at the Top 8 Ladder.  We applied Dry Lube to the Top 8 Ladder cars and Dry Lube will be applied to your car at this point.  If you make the Top 8 Ladder, each time you get a shot at moving up the Ladder.

OR, who knows, Marcus Firegone has a way of changing up the rules.
