Gasser Challenge Discussion
OK, Give us the poop.Pre 70's, 45g, skinnys up front fatties in the rear. The car has to be higher up front, right? Whats the deadline and where are we sending them?
Nightstalker8, are you in for two cars?
If so we have 8 racers with 2 cars each for a total of 16 cars.
The racers:
Econocarl
Jobe
Model40fan
Variation Jason
Tastelikedirt
JDC442
The Hurricane
and possibly Nightstalker8
I just re-read this thread and saw 4 hosts (EconoCarl, Model40fan, Variation Jason and Tastelikedirt).
Am I leaving anybody out either as an entrant or host?
I'm thinking this should be a "May" event with races every weekend. Does this give everyone enough time to build and/or test a pair of cars?
all sounds good.. only a thought... 16 cars race fairly quickly, is double elimination an option ? i know it is more complicated but each host should have the time... carl probably has a ...bracket.. er.. "ap" for that !

As a matter of fact I do. All these years with PONY Baseball is paying off!
that carl is a good guy to have around..
I like double elimination, more racing with few cars...more fun!
Some day I will have time to work on my gassers again...oi!

Just a reminder: entries need to be in by May 17th!
how many 2 car teams are entered so far ?
I do pretty much the same as Jim. First drill in the center if the factory rivits with a 1/16 bit. Drill this hole a little deeper than the rivit head (I put a piece of tape on the drill bit as a guide so I don't drill to deep. YES, I learned the hard way!). Then take the 3/16 bit and using the 1/16 holes as a guide SLOWLY drill the rivit head off. Be careful not to go too deep.
You can put the car back together with JB Quik Weld (if you don't want to take it back apart!).
I use this method: http://www.redlinederby.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=580 so I can take 'em back apart.
If you have any question just ask!
