Houston, we have a problem.

Now I need to decide if I want to dremel the body or try to change the wheels out.

some dremel... I use a burr bit in an electric drill, glove on the holding hand... large diameter is the way 2 go on the gasser...
or use a hacksaw and cut an axle slot under the base, drill a J B QUICK rivet hole, for clearance mount the big wheels from under...

Okay, I should be able to slap something together by then. It won't be much compared to the rest of you guys but at least I will be racing. Just don't laugh too bad at them.

Believe me, you don't have to worry. Mine aren't showroom quality either.

My cars are headed West... TLD has been quiet of late...must be out enjoying the sun. We got another 3 inches of snow this morning...grrrr.

Now on to building the Bare Muscle series cars....

I might actually make this race. Another step closer. My scales should be here today so I can work on adding weight tonight. Slapped some paint on them last night. Decided not to cut the body away to make room for the wheels I chose. I think I can space it out enough when gluing them back together to give them room. Now I just need to figure out why one of the front wheels on both cars are not hitting the ground when I roll them on my desk. Whoever comes in last in these races usually is going to be happy I joined. These things will be lucky to even make it to the finish line.

its a race... nobody can race without racers...
just the fact that you are going to enter, and on short notice, is a "win" to we veteran racers...
being able to show your boys or your buddies "your" car in a national event is special...
your boy's or buddies' ... "WOW" ... may actually be better than winning...
... see you in lane two ! ...

My 10 year old is fired up. He handed me this car as I was walking out this morning and asked if we could use it on one of the gassers.

I don't remember buying this but he told me we got it last year. It is an Ertl brand. I am eyeballing the holes on the bottom. I might be able to fit this to the body with the larger wheels and take away my rubbing problem. When we get home from baseball practice tonight, we are going to work on it to see if it is possible.
