Can't do the finals as our club is hosting the memorial day weekend drag races at New England Dragway, Epping, NH...
hmmm..... if no one wants to host the finals, maybe just cancel the heet on the 25th...?

Maybe this could be my first race hosting? The finals on 5/25 should be far enough out to get situated. I can try to enlist some top notch assistance from my neighbor Jim, aka JDC442.

Well I've got my gassers done but it was beyond frustration..... I managed to JB Weld a wheel solidly to an axle without even trying. Cut into a roadster to get the skinny front wheels. It had a metal base so I ended up breaking it to get the axle out, only to discover I had mis-measured the axle and it was an 1/8 inch to short to fit the gasser chassis. Then I got JB Weld on the face of a different tire I found. The car is kinda goofy looking. I'm hoping this is because I'm still kind of woozy from being sick...or senility is rearing it's ugly head.

sounds like the sloppies' garage a few years back... build on a sheet of white paper so you see the J.B. QUICK "drips and hairs" and don't roll the wheels over them!

after i drill the rivets and rip the axles from a donar car I often end up with FTEs that are slightly narrow... I carefully file the "trapaziods" off the base's 4 axle openings, make sure they are filed smooth with 1/32" wheel play on each end...
Speaking of gassers. I got this beautiful Studebaker Gasser as a prize for winning FFFs New School Championship, from Smitty.
I'm thinking that since it is now technically my car then I should be able to enter it in the Gasser Series. I hope it's fast.....
I could be kidding.....maybe.
