General Opinion on Entries needed

madmax Monday, 5/4/2020

If you are shipping a car or cars to a track, what is preferred from the host track.

Is it easier, better smarter , more economical to have a few classes and a few different cars or is it better to keep it limited to 1 or 2 cars for the person entering?

So.. the basic question is.. if you are  entering a mail in,

do you prefer mailing

1  car,

2 cars,

5 cars or more?

Whats the best number of classes to hold in an event day?

1

2

3

4

or 5

Whats the standard?

Thank you.

I prefer to race. You choose how much work you want to do...

I prefer 2 cars per Racer/Team.

For me, being in NZ, I'm thinking when I open the track to mail ins, I'd take 2-5/6 cars to make it worthwhile for people to ship all the way here. Otherwise it's hella expensive to just send 1 car all the way here. Be cheaper for me to just go and buy one locally for you, which could be another option but not much use in a mod race.

There's no standard, per se...but I tend to limit 2 entries per household if for no other reason to not end up having a bracket/tournament for one family. And in the rare cases where there's some sort of item prize, limiting reduces anyone's ability to stack the deck.

I've also found that you can send 2 or 3 cars in a box before the shipping price goes up...but that varies based on car weight and so on. I'm always looking for the cheapest freight so maybe that's just me.

As far as classes in an event...man, that's whatever you feel like doing or what you feel like will be most entertaining. As general rule, I always tell people to stay within your means of organizing things. Be honest with yourself with what you can do and what you want to do. People will join your races no matter what, for the most part. Just make sure everything is clear and easy to understand, and most people will just go with the flow.

For me, it depends on if the event is stock or mod.

If its a stock race there isn't any issues for me sending a bunch of cars!

If its a mod race, 1-2 cars max. I have less and less time these days to build cars so having to build more than 2 becomes way too difficult for me!
