Harvest Dragway, let the rebuilding begin...

K_Harvest Tuesday, 6/24/2014

Yes I will be building harvest dragway again and it will be a new design. I am still going to use the 6 lane track start and drop and the 6 lane finish like with orange track in between. The track length will stay the same at 22'. The difference is I am going to be finishing up all 6 lanes and I am picking the track up off the ground. I am building a table the whole length of 22' for the track to sit in place on. I am building a new  catch box at the finish!

Now once that is done I want to host again but I am going to start off with a simple race unlike the harvest track championship that was a lot of work, this one will be nice and simple. I have an idea in my head and if a majority of you like it then I will make it an official thread and race.

The race will be a one track one race event not a series. Now what I have in mind is called Extreme Pinks-Cash & Clunker. Now the idea behind this race is there will be more than one "series" winner. Each team will build the desired car, by my race guidelines obviously and more than likely it's only going to be one car per team. The races will be drawn randomly out of a hat. Each opponent drawn will race eachother for pinks. Winner best of 3 will win the losers car. These are just the basics that I've been thinking about if course it needs some detail to the rules and stuff but just to get you guys thinking about it. On a side note  the only wheels I want on the cars will be the team hot wheels high speed wheels. If everyone has these wheels I believe it will be most fair for everyone cause I know they are easier to get rather than the fte's. So start looking for these wheels out there and I will keep everyone posted on when or if this race will happen. If you guys can let me know who would be interested in running this race that way I can know if it will be a go. I would desire at least 10 teams that will do it then I will make the official race thread. Thanks guys!

Oh one more thing. Cash & clunkers means that every entrant that loses will lose their car and their return shipping money. Now all the winners will race bracket style or if there are only 12 teams or less all the winners will fit on the 6 lanes cause out of 12 teams it's only 6 winners and they will race for a grand champion and all the grand champion will win is the first set of losers return shipping cash. How does that sound.

Sounds like a plan!

Are the high speed wheels the colored ones? Red, blue, black, yellow and green?

Harvest dragway is pretty much completed. I was hoping to be back for the wagon series but it's coming up quick. I miss hosting events and I will be back in action real soon. I'm still trying to figure out what kind of event I want to run!

THE CHANGES I MADE TO THE TRACK!

- I have all 6 lanes fully tracked and ready to go

- I build a bench about 2 foot off the ground in length of my garage where the track originally layed so I pulled the track up off the floor and it now goes down the bench I built!

- Newley designed catch box with some good foam to safely stop cars

Glad to hear you're back in action, Kevin!  This race sounds interesting.  Depending on the specs and whether I have time and wheels available, I might have to get in on it.

  • I might change it up from the original idea. I haven't made any for sure decisions yet! — K_Harvest

Can't wait to see a pic!  With this on a bench how high is your starting gate? I've been thinking of a bench too cause I'm getting too old and tired of bending over to pick up the cars.

  • The starting gate is the six lane track. It's not at stock height I have it raised up a little. I will get some pics posted up soon! — K_Harvest
  • Yes, photos of the new set up!!! Welcome back!!! — Traction-Event
  • Let's see if I remember how. Still have to go through photo bucket? — K_Harvest
  • Yes, photos still need to be hosted outside somewhere, like PhotoBucket or Flickr. Can't wait to see! — redlinederby
