Hatchback and Rally 2.0

Here we go again….

It is time for the second coming of the hatchback and rally Tournament. The inaugural race was held almost 4 years ago I do believe!!!
Any rally type vehicle(as long as it’s a real vehicle is acceptable) Cars, Trucks, SUVs, etc… if you’re not sure just post a pic in comments and ask. Just please no knobby wheels…

Rules & restrictions

• Modified entries only
• 45-65g maximum weight
• 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• 2 car teams required 
• Retail axles and wheels only. FTE/NPA axles allowed.
• Any Lubricant allowed
• $5 entry fee for prizes (top 3 spots get prizes)
• Team name must be on car somewhere(bottom of car is acceptable)
• Pick a number for each car in comments(No duplicates)
• Try to having matching color schemes or paint jobs
• There will be a best in show contest so Decals are encouraged!!!
• Alternates are allowed but….. will only be entered in race should 1 car fail to meet rules or break during a race.
• Glued axles not required but strongly recommended!!!
• No limit on teams entered per household
• No limit on signups. (Everyone will get a chance to race)

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host before Saturday, 1/15/2027. Racing is scheduled for Saturday, 1/16/2027, but may be pushed back if the Your Muscles are Just a Fantasy tournament has not concluded. Results will be posted the day after the race finals.

How to enter

Contact the tournament host to get the shipping address for entry.

Include at least $10 for return shipping if you want your entries back. Entries not getting returned will be used in future events.

Include a Race Entry ID slip with your entry

Track

Will be my current track layout but the jumps will be added back and possibly even a couple more.

Race format and scoring

This will be a single-elimination tournament. That means No second Chances!!!!!

I am hoping to be able to run 4 cars at a time with a 5,3,2,1 score format.Cars alternate each lap clockwise. The top two will move on to the next round. If I cannot get consistent runs then we will do the typical 1v1 format with the best 2/3 runs moving on. ( As this is a rally event police will not be making an appearance ) 

The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.

Bracket seeding will be random, But a Time trial will be held to determine which cars will make it to the main tournament….. (32,64, etc…)

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify to compete. (Should only 1 car not qualify a stock alternate will be entered as your teammate) UNLESS you send an Alternate.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.

Once again, Top 3 cars will receive prizes. Please write with entry form what type of prizes you would like to see. As I will be picking the 1st place prize based off of your preferences!!
