Saw these over on the HW Collector website.

Intriguing. I know a name is a name, just like the FTE. Because they have the word fast/high speed in them, us racers jump all over them.

They are saying that the axles are nickel plated just like the FTEs.

If they were really designed as a new speed wheel, why a motorcycle? That doesnt make much sense.

how "hard" are the wheels ? that and plating axles are about all they can change...
i see a plastic bodied car, are faster wheels going to offset the less weight of nonmetalics ? hope that is not the future...

I don't have any yet. I guess some people are seeing them at Wal-Marts at $2 each.

My thoughts, exactly. I guess its Mattel's way of marketing them as a 'collectable set'. And besides the Bone Shaker, nothing else is really 'rockin' my socks'.

I think the Bone Shaker is the only one that really matters. The rest are all garbage cars that even with fast wheels wouldn't make them any better.

Are these the wheels Smitty was talking about last week?
No matter how much faster they are, they're fugly! Seems like the Hot Wheels Test Facility could have figured out how to make them in black!

GUess I'll try and find a few for testing...then paint the face of the wheels black. The red isn't too bad...

The pro stock Camaro doesn't look so bad.

The Bone Shaker had FTE wheels as a First Edition back in 2006. Someone needs to race it against this new "High Speed Wheels" version to see if it's a gimmick or not!

You're gonna fit in that way of thinking.

I saw these at my local wal-mart last night. The package tries to explain what they mean by high speed wheels. Something with the plastic and the nickel plated axles. I will probably buy some of them tonight, but wont be able to do any testing with them until after X-Mas as they will be presents for the boys.

Looking at the Off Road truck, Back Slider (3 sets of wheels for customs), Bone Shaker, Lotus Concept , and Torque Twister.
