Hot Wheels Hunting at a huge Flea Market!
Finally got the chance to make it out to the Seneca Co. Flea Market, the largest outdoor flea market in NW Ohio!
Discussion
So this is what becomes of us as we enter the experience of Hot Wheels........ I find it amazing that here I am on a Monday morning enjoying the video of someone 'shopping'. <lol>
I can relate though. Just yesterday morning I was drinking my coffee and reading my morning Facebook stuff. And then I just check the Marketplace for whatever might be happening and I am selling stuff from my garage.
Sure enough. I see someone selling a Hot Wheels Splash Pad. Okay, you may wonder what is that? I had to look it up too. It is basically a sprinkler. And as I told MamaGnome as I headed out the door to meet someone in 20 minutes to buy it for $10, she asks the most obvious question: "What do you want with a Hot Wheels Sprinkler?"
Well, I am not going to use it as a sprinkler. I am buying, in my view, a 5' diameter Hot Wheels Logo'd Sign. I plan to put it on the wall as a decoration.
I think I am going to like my new hobby. :-)
- Agreed, the longer I collect the more I realize that the true value and enjoyment comes from just collecting what you like, not for value. I buy all sorts of Hot Wheels stuff and repurpose it because I love up cycling stuff! — DRIFT_or_DIEcast_Racing

Flea markets are probably the best place to find deals. Unfortunately, many of the local markets that I used to attend have closed down with the land being sold off for real estate. When they were open, I was able to get many HTF mainlines priced @ 7 cars for $5. I've even found THs and redlines.that were grossly underpriced.
Almost every time I went, there was some random guy there unloading his collection with his spouse hovering over his shoulder, making sure he was collecting the $$. I've often felt some sympathy for those guys.
- I suppose one could tip generously in that situation if the cars were deeply discounted — Chris_Hood
- Yes, one has... ;-) — GspeedR
- Just let a fellow say something askew about the curated Museum of Snowmen Figurines once. . .JANET!! LOL — Chris_Hood
Tardy to the party but a full watch & all the algorithm goodies today
Great to hit the score for cheap on the one table that you nearly passed on! Wonder what he was holding back there in his vehicle?
- I could see in and was a lot more early 90's blue cards, which are exactly what I always look for. He was odd, I even said I'd buy them at $1 in bulk, which was 25ยข more than he was asking and he said no not until the ones on the table are gone. (The remaining ones I. The table were all dust collectors) — DRIFT_or_DIEcast_Racing
- Ohhh, I think I get it. He could be running a circuit of similar stops and didn't want to run out of "good" cars prior to the return home. Wild assumption on my part — Chris_Hood

Have to put this one in the queue! David @ Elevation Diecast had a similar live stream in his state a month or so back; when I watch this at least I'll be prepped for any sticker shock at the booths!
