How do you do acquire NASCAR bodies?
Plenty of NASCAR models from premium manufacturers (rubber tired, SLOW), but what about Hot Wheels? I've gotten a few (Daytonas, Chargers, Superbirds) but need basic NASCAR Fords and Monte Carlos from the 80s.
Hot Wheels make a 86 Monte Carlo, but with a stupid hood scoop! (Why? Whyyyy?) Not ready to modify a metal hood yet. (Turned a trans am into Rockfords firebird once in plastic, and that was hard enough).
Just wondering if yall know more than me (seems to always be the case) thanks.
(In the NASCAR race in August and really want to rep Willy Ribbs in it)

There is also everyone's (RLo's) favourite...Ford Thunderbird Stocker...they have released this casting a lot in the last couple years in the Colour Changers lineup...it's a good Metal Chassis plastic body option for anything NASCAR...I've done a couple as of late:
Plus all of these versions, in this type of packaging have plastic wheels. Most, if not all, have nickel plated axels too. Even if you don't want the body, they are good wheels for something else

Hot wheels does have a Chevy Monte Carlo casting that is about the era that you're looking for, I believe, but it's not NASCAR
I'm lucky enough to have been collecting for countless years. I grabbed a lot of Nascar stuff back in the 90s so I have a lot to choose from. For the record, I have not found a fast Racing Champion yet....

Well, my experience so far says it's not easy as far as NASCAR goes. The only NASCAR cars I have are premiums with rubber tires and the whole deal. I had planned to take two 57 Chevy bodies and try to redo two cars from that era of NASCAR. But no matter how I mod those they are just dogs performance wise. So Plan B is I've taken a 2018 Camaro and 84 Trans Am and I am going to do them and NASCAR-esq paint and decals.
