Need opinions on finish lines and systems
There are so many timing systems availble, and I see a lot of racers with home made setups. I am curious what opions my fellow racers and content creators have about SlanMan VS Play Robotics. I want a more realistic drag race feel where the lanes are seperated a bit vs the lanes closer together.

PlayRobitics is a bit more expensive but totaly worth the price. I love mine. I had a hard time getting a hold of a SlanMan system due to availability.
I use the PlayRobotics timer for the 6 lane tracks. Generally pleased. Never has a problem with determining 1st through 6th. When you try to get the times for all six races it sometimes starts the next race, without giving you all the times. Might just be a problem with my older set.
I built my own using ardunio and AI to code for me. I have a 2 lane drage race that shows winner and time for both.Currently working on a 4 lane, 6 lane finsh & open track finsh line with times for all the racers coming through. Traying to make a aluminum body. Current prototype is black foam core. I'll bring more pictures as it progresses.

I custom made one for my Forgotten Highway and also for ENZED Racings track and they can have lanes at whatever width you want, it just comes down to where you set them up. The timer starts when the servo moves the start gate pins and finishes when the cars pass over a light dependant resistor at the finish, so you could have the lanes side by side or separated by a lot as it's just wiring. It's a pretty basic arduino setup with timer and everything is run off a single arduino via USB power.
