It takes a village...
Just a quick announcement that I've had to ban a few Village Idiots that were causing a lot of grief and were otherwise just being super offensive and disrespectful. I've also done my best to remove various threads/posts that are related...if I've missed any, please report them and I'll take care of them.
To everyone that reported the activity, thank you. I admit that I'm not monitoring things daily around here much anymore so I appreciate everyone that spoke up and called it out...consider yourselves deputized. They say it takes a village, and I might be mayor of this village, but I really lean on those that care enough to want to see this place continue to be a fun resource. So again, thank you.
For what it's worth, I'm very sorry that it happened here at RLD, and to those that were offended and targeted by said idiots, I truly apologize. I know this situation doesn't help RLD's rep but I hope everyone can move beyond this episode and continue to foster the fun of racing that was the foundation this village was built upon. But I also understand if this whole thing has turned people away. I don't blame you. There's no time for shit posting trolls in what is supposed to be a fun & friendly hobby.
I realize banning people and deleting posts probably won't stop anyone from repeating their actions, but it's the best we can do with the tools we have. Please keep eyes and ears open and just report what you see and I'll do my best to handle it as fast as I can.
You can use the "Report" link next to any comment post and it will remove the content from view and put them into a backlog that I will review and use to remove them.

Thank you sir. I have very thick skin so I was not offended and my kids outlook on life is so carefree he will never know or notice but appreciate everyone who stepped forward, between letting me know and defending Matthew. Overall I love the community.

It was mildly entertaining but quickly became tiresome. In the racing world, you either put up or shut up.. that person did neither. Most of the members handled it quite well. Thank you.
I second SpyDude and apologize for my part. I got caught up and then realized my transgressions. Sorry to the community and at the end I tried to bring closure to my participation.
In my less than a year on here I have been helped out numerous times and appreciate everyone. I don't like when people go on the attack and trash something the has brought such incredible fun and friendship.

Sometimes it takes a butthole like that to rally the troops...there are enough good dudes here that I think we can all agree that sometimes these situations actually make you realize how good a community we have.

I'm going to ask a hard question that's on everyone's mind, and I apologize beforehand:
What if he simply signs up again under another name? Or were you able to ban his IP address?
Personally, I'm sure if he manages to come back, his attitude will be extremely evident to all here, and he can be booted again. I'm just looking forward to possible worst case scenario, and hoping it doesn't come to that..

- All I can do is ban logins, not IPs. But I can ban until the cows come home. So just keep eyes and ears out for anything off color. The Report button is the best way to quickly flag and hide questionable posts. — redlinederby
