Hey there Redliners I thought I would start a thread on collections, and by collections they could be actual official Hot Wheels or MBX or whatever... or just your own personal grouping of cars that you collected. So share what you do in diecast outside of racing. When I started a year ago I told myself I'm only focused on racing .... well ... I now have around 7 or so various collections. Since the site has photo storage issues I recommend you only post video links if at all possible.
This video covers my current collection of Bubble Tops - as impractical as they are they have always fascinated me. This goes out to Sunshine_City_Garage ----- enjoy.

Here is my homemade showcase and all of the cars I've kept nice for a couple years. Notice the gaps where I've taken out cars for modding recently. MBX Across America series small collection as well. T-Bird collection: Not sure how I ended up with this many.

- The MBX set is really cool! I only have a few. The olive green Ford pickup for my state (Maine) is known to be one of the top 50 fastest diecast vehicles on average. Mine is no exception! Unfortunately, no tournaments that allow matchbox or trucks has a weight limit of more than 70g. It's a beast! — ManiacMotorsports

Thank you very much for the awesome shout out and a view of your bubble top collection! I see several that I'll be hunting for. I did recognize the one just to the right of the green mottled one. It is a Hot Wheels Silhouette 2 the sequel so to speak of an oldie but a goodie called Silhouette which I believe is one of the original line up. The next one is another old casting first called Mantis, but it has gone throuogh many other renamings including Double Vision, and Speed Seeker. The cool thing about this one is the original Mantis had opening canopies. Other good bubble tops from days gone past are: Hot Wheels Bubble Gunner, Hot Wheels Splittin' Image, Matchbox Hot Rod Draguar, Hot Wheels Swingin' Wing, and Hot Wheels Bug Eye. Lastly, a few newer ones I've found are Hot Wheels Manta Ray, and Astro Funk. I really like your town set up as well!

My main collection is my favorite 24 hot wheels and 24 matchbox from when I was a kid. I have 24 car carrying cases one hot wheels and one matchbox.
Now you need the magic 8 ball bubble car I saw in a recent unboxing video.
Can't remember the name, but there's a Johnny Lightning bubble top that reminds me of the Jetsons car. Was one I had in red and in purple (unless it was blue and I recall wrong). Had a rocket nozzle for exhaust.

My collection is over 2000 strong, from many years of collecting. I only started racing less than a year ago, so I have a huge assortment to work with.

Here is my Hot Wheels Salt Racers collection plus a few related ones tossed in. Being a complete geezer at this point in time means I grew up in the '60s and speed attempts on the salt flats were were frequently in the news or in Popular Mechanics or Popular Science mags that I frequented in. So getting this collection was a no brained - still working on a worthy case / display.
