Johnny Lighting at a grocery store?

Finkle_and_Sons Sunday, 8/23/2015

Hi people.

I know that Johnny Lightning is defunct but a grocery store in town had a handful in stock.  What's a good price for them?  What did they go for when they were being manufactured?  The ones I saw were for $3.39.  Looks like they're after TOMY took them over.

$3.39 isn't bad, especially considering that those JLs aren't in production any more (though there will be new ones in 2016), and considering what some people try to get for them.  If they have hard tires, you should consider sending them in to the LJLRC's Forever 64 class!

  • Cool. Yeah, I was only interested in one or two of the ones they had. Didn't know if I should pick the rest up for others. — Finkle_and_Sons

Which ones are they?  I (or K&O) might be interested in some, if you don't want to try racing them.

  • If I got the 2 I wanted there would remain a VW ambulance, a Chevy Citation and a Lincoln Continental that is kind rat rodded. — Finkle_and_Sons
  • I'm interested in racing but at this juncture I want to stick with certain vans and wagons (or something just plain weird or free to me). — Finkle_and_Sons
  • a vw ambulance isn't weird? lol. I'd kinda like to see that. lol — CrzyTrkrDude
  • Vans and wagons are often the best downhill gravity racers, ha-ha-ha. Depending on the edition--you might want to send in hard-tired panels — FOTF
  • Yep, keep an eye out for the '50 Chevy Suburbans and Panels. They make good LJLRC Forever 64 racers. — KandORacing
