Looking around Plasticville...

72_Chevy_C10 Saturday, 1/2/2016

The S scale buildings from the '50's by Bachman were called Plasticville...and I think that's a great name! It shows how excited companies were about being about to make things out of plastic!

I've bought a couple buildings and the scale kinda works with these cars, so I've started displaying some cars around my American Flyer train track. And, I'm sure it will escalate quickly and turn into full-blown train layout...but here are a couple quick shots of the early stages of Plasticville...

Very cool shots.Plasticville is just the right scale for our die cast collections...

Once had a huge 3 rail layout and used hot wheels ,etc for the local traffic..

They are great for this..Kinda combining two hobbies into one..

Keep those pictures coming..

I wish I had kept my model train accessories in better condition, they would be great for diorama stuff. Loved my train and had a decent setup but it was played with hard too (as it should be).

Here's a shot of my Chevy sitting in front of the garage where I pumped gas. It was my first job when I was like 16 or 17. That garage was a 3 bay, with a single post lift in the first bay.

So, you can see why I like this little plastic version!

I hung around Tom Pellicane's Citgo in Sayreville growin' up. Looked a lot like the NS Garage. No accident. lol
