Where do I begin?
First off, Know this...
Please, walk into the theater with ZERO preconceived ideas or expectations. Forget EVERYTHING from the previous trilogy, for very little of it really holds any bearing on this tale. The only reason it uses that title name, is for the general gist, and to get people in the door who loved the trilogy. It could very easily been tweeked a bit, and been made to stand completely on its own legs. It could just as well been titled " Mikey in the Desert". Because his name is only used 2 times at the end. Lol.
In fact, the more I think about it... It is not even about Max at all. Which I am surprised to realize.
I will say this....
Mad Max Fury Road..
Makes " The Road Warrior" look like an episode of Barney, giving lectures about sharing and being nice to others!!
Having said this...
WOW!
The movie is 2 hours long, of which, maybe only 20 minutes of it is mellow. The rest was 1 hour 40 minutes of the most mind blowing, visual effects, and action pack cinema I have ever witnessed!!
Personally, within the first 10 minutes, I knew without a doubt, I would now have a NEW PERSONAL FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIMES!! It just hits you that solid, that fast. It grabbed us, pointed a stubby disgusting little finger at us, and said....... "Ain't no way you are ready for this s-it !! THERE AIN'T NOOOOOOO WAY YOU ARE READY!!!!"
It was the most incredible thing I have ever seen in a theater. HANDS DOWN!!
The 3D effect is GREAT! It enhanced the film in a subtle way. Really added to the effects in such a way, that you kinda forget it is in 3D. Until.....
Yeah, it is worth the extra couple dollars. Just buy the ticket for the biggest gawldang theater screen you can find. You will be glad you did. TRUST ME!!
The storyline...I will not give anything away. But, you will find it to be original and pretty dang cool I think!!
If loud music or booms annoy you, bring ear plugs. If you enjoy these things, YOU WILL LOVE THIS MOVIE!! My wife is VERY sensitive to these things, but ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Which surprised me.
The score and sound effects should win every award possible.
The acting.... Yeah. They all did a GREAT JOB.
Make-up... Great.
Special effects... COMPLETELY FREAKING I.N.S.A.N.E!!!!
Annnnnd, the REAL STARS of the movie...
THE CARS AND TRUCKS WILL BLOW YOUR MIND!!! I spent the entire time, taking inventory, trying to identify as much as possible so I can build some of these things!!!! ABSOLUTELY .... leaves me without words to describe them. I've never been at a loss for words before...
but then.....
I am a Crazy Trucker Dude.

oh... And go pee before you pull the door handle. You will NOT want to miss a scene.
Discussion
The wife and I saw it last night too, really good. Lived up to all the hype I had been reading. Certainly worthy of the Mad Max name. We saw it in 3D too but didn't intend too...they goofed on the screenings. I'm not a big fan of 3D but this time it wasn't bad at all. Didn't really add to the movie much but didn't detract.
All in all, $25 well spent for a night out.
And serious bonus points for the first person to make a mod covered in speakers with the guitar guy on it.

Wife and I walked out of the theater and told me it was the best idea I'd had in a while. We'd never seen a movie in 3D and weren't sure what to expect.
Surprised to find out the villain, Immortan Joe, is indeed played by the same actor who played the villain in the original Mad Max 37 years ago!
Found myself reaching toward the screen towards the end in hopes of taking home a souvenir!
