I wanted to bring up a question that was raised during the Beater Burnout Series on Byes here in the guidelines thread.

I propose that all bye runs should be run on the track. With successful completion of the track run - moving to the winners bracket. If the vehicle fails to complete the run - it should move to the losers bracket (double elimination) or out (single elimination) instead.

Pros/Cons...go!

I believe that the byes should be run also, and for a different reason.
I think the extra run actually helps the car.
After being in-transit the cars with the byes need to be "exercised".

The "Beater Race" was a special deal. I'm thinking (hoping) that there won't be any 'obstacles' in races with modded cars.

So the idea is we submit cars at whatever weight class we care to do and then it's put in race against other cars in the same weight class. So you never know just how many racers will be in each race. That sounds interesting to me............That is right isn't it?

For a league race (a race held in one day at a club function where there is a lot of help) this would work.
IMO only one class should be raced in a series (where there are multiple hosts usually running the races by themselves).

Schmitty and I were talking last night and he brought up something that we'd forgotten.

If you start a series then you should host the last race of the series. In effect, you know more about the series than others as far as entrants and things, making it easier for you to send the cars back to their owners.

Agreed. last time I was gonna organize a race I considered doing/hosting the first and last race. Maybe with different track layouts (length/starting height) for the two different races. The advantage would be that I organized it (the race), received all the entries...then would have all the packaging and boxes that the cars originally came in for an easy return. Plus you would have the return postage shipped with the cars in the first place. It might "tidy up" shipping.

Hosting the 1st and last event sounds reasonable. Another option would be to gather all the entries and send them to the 1st race host (if not you) and just host the last event. That way you have all the original packaging and return postage payments already.

We can also have the last finals host ship their cars for the upcoming series in the special 48 car jammer case [thanks TLD] like we did in the past...so it can be used in the next series...
