RACE IS ON - Finally - This weekend 3/27

The Mushroom Kingdom comes back to life on Power-UP Pass, and it’s time for the ultimate karting showdown: MAR10 Kart Madness!

On March 10, the iconic characters from the Mario universe are back, bringing their colorful cars and signature style to this high-speed spectacle.

Mario Kart Madness is all about speed and strategy. The track is filled with twists, turns, ramps, and long straightaways that let racers show off daring overtakes, perfect timing, and flawless driving. From sharp curves to high-flying jumps, every moment is a chance to demonstrate mastery of your favorite Mushroom Kingdom rides.

Car Theme - 

• Please comment WHICH RACER you will be using, It would be great to have a good spread of characters 
• ANY Mario Kart Themed Cars
• ANY character of your choosing from Mario Kart Series (Link, AC etc.)
• With or Without a Driver
  • Have a typical Mario Kart Hot Wheels Character sticking their head out of the vehicle
  • Decorate any car of your choosing with any Mario Universe theme
• Racer-verse characters are not accepted.

Rules & restrictions

• Stock and modified entries allowed
• 45-65g maximum weight (higher center of gravity cars do better above 50)
• 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• Limit 2 entries per household
• Retail axles and wheels only. FTE/NPA axles allowed.
• Any lube that DOESN'T Leak
• NO PUTTY WEIGHT!! (Even cured)
• Family-friendly driver names and decals – any offensive decals will be disqualified. Offensive driver names will be changed.
• Limited to 32 spots for equal heats

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host before Saturday, 2/21/2026.  If the car(s) are not received by this date or if communication with host has not occured of pending arrival. The spot will be forfeited to the standby list and available to anyone who desires that spot. Racing is scheduled for Saturday, 2/28/2026. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

Race format and scoring

Cars will race in heats of 4 racers where the top two in points (after 4 races), moves on to the next round. Cars will alternate lanes between each race.

A point is scored as follows:

1st - 5pts
2nd - 3pts
3rd - 2pts
4th - 1pt
DNF - 0 pts

The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Sudden Death races for ties up until the final race. Then total points accumulated during the tournament will decide ties in the final race. Race host has final decision in all races.

Bracket seeding will be random.

Penalties/DNF

1. Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.
   
   If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.
   
   Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.
