Matchbox 61st Anniversary Mail-In Series
Cars away!! 9505500024094273000582
The cars & donated prizes have arrived! I will look them over in a few minutes to make sure none have been damaged in shipping. If anything doesn't look right I would be more than happy to fix it, with the owner's permission.
OK, so there really isn't anything too concerning, but I'd just like to go over a few things to make sure the following 3 cars are OK:
#73 has loose weights inside of the car
#91 has loose weight inside the car
#79 has some sort of white substance on the tire surfaces
Here is the one that concerns me a little bit:
#84, the wheels are rubbing the fenders, the axles appear to be loose in the chassis. If the owner would like, I can take it apart real quick and secure them in place with JB Weld before Sunday. Let me know ASAP. Thanks!
- Hey K&O Thanks for the offer. I didn't glue the axles down to start with. It was my 1st try at building a car. — FatMike
- #79 white substance is a reaction to the oil on my fingers when i superglued the base. should b ok. — delta6
- The interior fit tight so I thought it would be alright. I've since learned better. If you dont think its breaking rules, please fix it. Thx — FatMike
- Not breaking the rules at all. I'd be happy to fix it! — KandORacing
- OK Thanks, I might get pass round 1 or not. — FatMike
- I think your car will do alot better once the wheels aren't grinding against the fenders. — KandORacing
- By the looks of the wear on the 'tire' surface, they have been rubbing during the whole series. — KandORacing
One more thing - I can't find the Pontiac Grand Prix that morrismini supposedly entered, instead there is a Lotus Europa that doesn't belong the other races, but has a #91 sticker on it. I'm just confirming if this is morrismini's car or not.
- Hey Keith, I think that question is answered under the pics of staging at Smitty's — 72_Chevy_C10
Yes, the Lotus replaced the Grand Prix. I didn't realize it when I first got them either. And a couple of cars had loose weights then also. I fixed one but was told I didn't have to fix the other.
OK Folks, here are the parings for the Final race of this series, randomly drawn from a hat:
