I think that was before Carl had a race track at home. Racetrack and testing at home = Carl SuperStar!

Just remember to add a chain and anchor to the back bumper for extra speed

Thanks for the advise. I will keep that in mine and who knows maybe i will be required to have a chain and anchor as a handicap from being to fast lol.

. . . maybe i will be required to have a chain and anchor as a handicap from being to fast lol.

You're going to fit in here just fine!

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

I was gonna put this in a new thread, but these cars are some "natural" middleweights so I put them here to maybe help out some new folks. The test track is 4 ft. high starting line about 12 feet downhill and 13 ft. straight away.

Here are some random "heavier" cars that I've been holding on to so I could do some testing. These cars are between 40 and 50 grams. Mostly castings I don't care for, but there might be a fast one in there so I thought I would try 'em out. The A-Team van or the Escalade are probably the favorites here if for no other reason they are the heaviest. I'll do some racing and let you know how it turned out.

Round one
That blue car got KILLED by several car lengths several times. It's so slow it makes me think there must be something wrong with it, but the wheels seem to turn.

A-Team van lost in the first round to the Baby buggy. Convincingly.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
Here are the first round losers. With the Woody being the fastest by a pretty good margin.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
From the underside the two slowest cars are displaying some of the traits of fast cars (which is why I bought them) but they are big time dogs.

Round 2
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
The Escalade (49.6 grams) gets off to a good start every time, but the Green MS-T Suzuka (41.0 grams) takes him on the straight away every time. (If this green thing keeps it up I might have to enter it in that Import race over at HWC.com.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
The Baby Buggy (39.0 grams) beat up on the Gremlin (39.8 grams) by several cars lengths every time. The Baby Buggy is almost a wheel stander! A lot of the weight is in the back on this thing.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
The Baby Buggy on the right reminds me a lot of "Way 2 Fast" or a Funny car the way it's arranged. (Look how clean those wheels are)

FINAL
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
These two cars ended up being super equally matched. I ended up running them 8 or 9 times before I got a two time consecutive winner. The Green Import ended up winning the whole shebang. But wait there's more...

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
I brought the Woody back because it lost to the Baby Buggy in the first round. I raced it against the Green Import. These two were pretty evenly matched, but the Import ended up beating it by a nose. So, these three cars turned out to be solid racers and the Woody is a pretty well know fast Hot Wheel so the other two are in good company....but wait there's more.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
This GTO I built for the first Middleweight series. It was my second fastest car. It ended up somewhere in the middle of the pack overall in the series. So I raced it against the Green Import and the again these two are very evenly matched but the GTO is slightly faster. (It also weighs in at 56.8 grams.

There you go. That's all I got.

I'll do some racing and let you know how it turned out.

My money is on the 40s Woody (provided the wheels roll good right out of the package).

The woody went straight to the losers bracket, but is quite a bit faster than the other losers. We'll do some double elimination ect... and see where it ends up.

Great pics of the team cars TLD !!! Post office says mine should be there by thursday.

Carl, that will give me a good idea of how they perform against other middleweight modded carsand what to do next time around. Already have lots of ideas in mine head for other mods to race, been working on a few for a featherweight challenge.

Speed Secret #28: Make sure the tires are clean. Even a small piece of debris stuck to the tire will slow a car down quite a bit.

Yes, the fastest car from this testing, I'll add weight and maybe some different wheels...we'll see how much I can slow these things down with my magic touch!

Just for you I'm gonna blow those suckers off and run 'em again.

-edit. I ran 'em and that Blue car is getting nominated for the most beat up and punished losing Hot Wheel that I have raced in 2013.
