Music to build to

FastEnuff Friday, 12/12/2025

Does anyone else listen to music while at the workbench or have favourite songs/artists/genres to build cars to?  I start every sit at the workbench with the Hurriganes "Hot Wheels"

I myself often listen to my edm playlist when I'm at the bench. There I mainly listen to snail house, metaroom, and Justice.

  • Will look them up. Only one I might be familiar with is Justice... they do D.A.N.C.E? — FastEnuff
  • Yes Justice has done D.A.N.C.E, DVNO, and Genesis (which was featured in John Wick part 4) — Kingjester

I'm either listening to classic 80's rock or 80's hair metal.
Sitting here jamming to "Freebird" right now, the full uncut nine-minute version.

  • That guitar solo always hits — Kingjester
  • Been ages since I listened to the full version. — FastEnuff

70s soul, hip hop, jazz or indie rock while painting.

SynthWave, electronica, random instamental tracks while building/testing.

  • Good mix of sounds there! It's a short jump from hip hop to 70s funk and soul, especially if you grew up in the sample heavy late 80s/early 90s. Hip hop got me onto bands like Brass Connection, Soul Searchers and Ohio Players. — FastEnuff

I listen to a mixture of classic late 60s-early 2000s rock like Sabbath, Skynyrd, AC/DC, Metallica etc, about half the time, the other half gets split between pop-punk, country, and European power metal/symphonic metal

I usually have the Utube "Finnegan's Pub" playlist on scramble, which is Irish folk punk.

  • Great stuff! — SpyDude
  • Going to assume Flogging Molly is on there so I'll need to look it up and give it a listen — FastEnuff
  • I saw Flogging Molly on my 21st birthday, a truly awesome time. — Travelers_Racing_League
