My new job...

Variation-Jason Saturday, 7/10/2010

Well guys, I have been named the racing coordinator for DiecastSpace.com. WooHoo!!!

While I have been with DCS from the beginning, and have ran all of the convention races, I am now an official employee of DCS. It's got it's good and bad sides though. Good side is all of the racing and tons of club connections. Maybe I'll actually be able to get a national series up and running. Truly endless limitations.

Bad side is since I will be trusted with the inner secrets of DCS and now have legal expectations, I have to watch how closely I am associated with certain programs. I will also have to stop using my Texas Diecast Racing Association as a sponsor for the conventions. (That sucks)

Having said that, I have chosen to excuse myself from the Fantasy League for now. I want to take some time and invest myself into the DCS and TXDRA racing programs and get everything running smoothly. I may stop in from time to time to see you guys, but I will have very limited time for awhile. I'll be in and out for the next few days, but will start getting busy next week

I am pretty sure the Hurricane will be back to race with you guys, though.

Sounds like a dream job Jason. I'd think it'd take a very bright or very lucky guy to get paid for doing something along the lines of his hobby.
Congratulations! Man I'm sooo jealous!!!

Very cool, sounds like fun! Congrats! Sorry to hear you can't join in the Fantasy League fun, but I understand. I hope you can spread the good word of the Redline Derby League while you're there too The more the merrier!

And if you're part of the DiecastSpace inner circle, see if you can get them manage their forum and twitter feed a little better. I think they have their forum feed hooked up to Twitter, which is a good idea, but not when people keep posting off-topic threads. I expect diecast links from DCS, not reviews about movies and Lohan.

Thanks guys. I'm liking it alot so far and I have a TON of freedom when it comes to the races.

Bro, that twitter feed is an animal all on it's own... I don't think I even want to be a part of that operation, lol. The feeds can be a bit much, but Lohan is one seriously hot train wreck and you can update me on her anyday!

I have a huge race planned for Vegas next year.... gotta keep it under wraps for a while, but if you have a way of making it there, you definitely don't want to miss this one.....
