nascarkeith's new project "Haulin' House" Finished
SO COOL! GREAT WORK!
Really liking the paint jobs too!
How are you masking off for the second coat? When I use to try to do a two tone paint job the some of the first color would stick to the tape when unmasking.
I use Krylon gray primer as the base coat. The color the coat is either Krylon spray paint or Faskolor with an airbrush. The base coat has to be really cured. You have to let them sit a day or two. On the Nova I actually brushed on the white. There is a mold line where the color breaks that was really easy to follow.
I've spent a lot of time painting 1/24 scale models and rc bodies. Some of my rc bodies have 5 or more colors so I guess all that experience is paying off.
Nice work.
That other Hot Wheels forum is having another build off. You must use a '70 Chevelle Wagon. Here is the link http://forums.hotwheelscollectors.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/2974088052/m/9931015608
I picked one up and couldn't figure out what to do with it. Then, I saw one turned into an El Camino style car and decided that would look cool with a truck bed camper on it. I was going to build one out of styrene but got lucky and ran up on a Matchbox camper that fit with just a few mods.
This is what I started with.
Here is what I got after a few minutes of tinkering.

Thanks. Good competition in the build off including your beast.
WIP pic.
Bondo work on the camper. Notice the new exhaust just behind the wheel well. Now, to figure out something cool for the intake.
It's finished.
It looks ready for the infield at Talladega to me.
your two-tone paint is right on... i wouldn't even try that... so cool !
