My Super Van isn't doing so well I swapped out with some new FTEs that fit wonderfully, even tossed on some graphite and the non-modded Super Van is just as fast. I'm doing some tests with weight to see if I can use that to improve the speed. I might look at FTE-ing a Demon if this van doesn't turn around soon. And I gotta get to painting soon if I want this to be done by Nashville.

For all the racing I do you'd think I'd know how to mod a car to make it fast.

Made some good progress today.... you guys are gonna have to be super fast if you want to win this one, lol.

I'll be impressed with just getting my car done and it rolls!

I'm curious, is super glue on the axles a no-no because it might leak to the wheels and get them stuck?

I remember reading on here before that you guys recommend adhering the axles to the body so that there is just one point of friction (the wheels spinning against the axles). Is this still true or did I hear wrong?

Yeah, the super glue is not a good idea. It's easy to use but it's too runny and it dripped right down my axle into my wheel. I even tried using wax paper to help but it still got all over. I actually first tried some JB Kwik but it was too thick so it didn't get in the tube and when I put the axle in, it just squished out and didn't stick.

I actually got one good axle together with super glue, but for that one good one I burned through 4 others because of runny glue. I honestly think practice makes perfect, so I haven't quite given up on super glue quite yet, it's just too easy to work with.

I do still fix my axles to the chassis and that seems to help...well, it doesn't hurt and if you have to make your own axles with the tube then you don't have much choice.

I've always used JB Quick when mounting the axle tubes to the chassis and installing the axles into the tubes. It doesn't take much to lock 'em in there.

Yup, I actually lived there for the last year of college when I was at Texas A&M. Bryan living in Bryan...

Growing up I used to get Dum-Dum lollypops at this mexican food place we used to go, and they were made in Bryan, Ohio. I always wanted to go there...still haven't made it.

My grandma is from Bryan, Ohio Oh what a small world! Ha!

But on a more serious note...I may not get my car done before Nashville. Things are just stacking up that I already don't have enough time for. I should probably just quit whining, spray my van blue and call it done, but I can't bring myself to do it. If my car is gonna compete, I want it to compete, ya know? Anyhoo...
