Saw this online. I wonder if it'll be fast?

The places I buy my car don't have many neons, this looks good.in UK they are 2.5 times the price of a mainline, what about across the pond

  • $1.18/mainline, $3.47/Neon Speeders here in my part of the States, even more than the $2.97 for Silver Series cars — Chris_Hood
  • So about 2/3 the price we pay.ivd been yo US a few times but sadly never into hotwheels at the time.91,97 and 04 — RalphsRacers
  • $3.97 today in the Northeastern part of the US, influenced by the recent tariff drama. — X2Whiskey

Will likely need a wheel swap to be fast. We've had four waves of Neon Speeders and so far I've seen only a single car compete in modified racing with the stock NS6 wheels, however because of the casting choice and that the paint was also stock, that builder might not have had the skill set then to do anything more to the car

  • At least the casting will be more readily available again — ManiacMotorsports
  • You didn't find any of the winter holiday set from 2023? It was in that — Chris_Hood
  • No, I never found it. Then again, I wasn't modding at that point! — ManiacMotorsports
  • Fair. Thanks for enlightening me as to your personal experience — Chris_Hood

What makes the Evo special for racing?  Is it the wheels, the weight, the wheel configuration, left over hype because there was one good release once upon a time?

Only asking because I don't own any and see them a lot on the track.

  • "Leftover hype," ouch. You know me, I don't build, just a fan. I FEEL it's the natural weight distro coupled with the stance. Used to think that the level ride height with four larger than average wheels gave the car some top end speed advantage. From what I've seen, it's only Achille's Heel is that you have to manage the CG well on courses that have turns tighter than a certain angle. Saying this in kind tones, the "hype" must still be there or EVOs would have faded out by now — Chris_Hood
  • Just thought of something, pardon. Even though these are generally 1/64 scale cars, the 2008 EVO is a little chunky compared to so many others so perhaps it is able to literally bully it's way past on the track? — Chris_Hood
  • there is a lot of room for weight in the casting — ManiacMotorsports
  • Thanks for the replys guys. I was leaning toward stance if I had to guess. One these days maybe I'll get my hands on one to find out. — Zamak_Speed_Shop

I found 2 of them today! They seem pretty fast. One is faster than the other.

I'll definitely swap the wheels. This car will be good for modified races.

  • If I was racing mine, I'd throw some silicone on the wheels of the faster one and let 'er rip. It wasn't that slow — ManiacMotorsports
