New Orange Track

Stroller Tuesday, 3/18/2014

I got 3 packs of the new orange track from my son on my birthday. I opened them yesterday. I didn't realize that they were different. They are like arrow track, but no arrow slots in the road bed. They also have these connectors that lock into place in both pieces of track. When connected the track will not come apart. The seam between track pieces vanishes. At 2 bucks for 4, 1 foot pieces they are cheaper than the old track at 3 bucks for 5 pieces. ..........I'm going to get more, for my six lane track....

Have you seen the other new orange track pieces that they sell individually? Here in northwest Oregon there is a grocery/department store chain named Fred Meyers that sells individual pieces without the arrows, and the connectors look to be pretty good for keeping the track together. I bought a whole sealed display box full of 50 pieces Although I'm probably not going to use it for building a track (No good place to build a permanent race track here), instead I'm going to keep the track display box sealed for my Hot Wheels collection.

I believe Brian wrote a review on them recently. He thought there potentially could be an issue with those connectors and low riding cars.

Hooked a couple of pieces together and rolled a 55 bel-aire gasser with about 1/32 of an inch clearance with no touching of connector........but if a car were actually dragging that might be different.

Here's the "official" review with some photos. Lets keep talk about this new track over there, thanks.
