I'm seeing Pro Stock and Funny Cars.

The latest funny car in the mainlines that has come out tjis year is about 30 grams! What a rip off.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Further up this page, I read something like 'stock or mod, but you should mod'--I was going by that.

Have we decided for certain on the classes?

I would open up the race up to "stock" cars to help fill the brackets.

How about Pro Stock, and Funny car?

Would that be Pro Stock at 57g and Funny Car at 75g? Enter 1 car per class? I'm game!

not that hip to pro-stock... do i need to do more than just add a chute or wheeliebar [or both] to any 57 gram FTE car, 1926 to 2012 to pass the RULES ?
example ; shoebox, '58 Tbird, neet streeter, '41 willys, '40 ford coupe etc.

I wanna see you do a shoebox with a Pro Stock hood scoop from the HW Firebird. You can even use the wheelie bars from it. That would be nasty lookin'.

Now that I think about it, I have those castings. Maybe I should just do my own.

I really am not trying to make this difficult. I think whatever class the casting/chassis should have a chute or a wheelie bar. The car....should look like a drag car. Yes I have seen all kinds of "drag cars" even nitrous injected chevy astro vans. but my goal was to race drag cars. You know big fat rear tires, smaller font ones....

top fuel: some kind of rail dragster
Funny car: hinged flopper full bodied
Pro Stock: full bodied
altered: open wheel, open engine, gasser.....whatever

At this point I'll race whatever is set up, and host when possible.

Thanks for the link. I never knew HW's did a Pro Stock '86 Ford Thunderbird. I have got to find one. Yes, they do have some good choices. An I agree about not necessarily having to use these castings. I have the Firebird. It sits very low and has a long nose in front of the front axle. I'm inclined to thick that depending on how sharp the transition is from the angled downhill track to the flat track it may bottom out briefly and lift the front tires off the track, slowing it down a bit. Just a thought.

so, are we restricted to what mattel labled pro-stock ? or can we use any casting we choose to make a drag car ?
the link came up light blue squares, clicking on them did nothing...

Not to say use these cars, just ideas on how to modify others for the 'pro-stock' look. I'm pretty sure that's what Traction Event was going for.
